Samsung kinda brought on the lawsuits themselves, they were pretty obvious.

Samsung is not the only one making rectangles that make calls. Almost every manu has one. Samsung is just the biggest target. My old phone, the droid charge would never be mistaken for a iPhone yet it's one of the phones named to be banned. If Ford had Apple's patent lawyers back in the day we'd all be driving Fords right now.

They just went after Samsung because Samsung makes the screens for Apple's retina display, so they figured Samsung had some proprietary secrets. I got my Samsung before the iPhone 4 came out specifically because of the display. It's got 1080 video and I can also shoot a photo better almost than my 12 megapixel digital camera too, up to 3264x2448.

i dont really see how else you can make a tablet/smartphone touch device without it having some type of rectangular flat surface to touch, and no buttons. is rounded corners really a patentable design esthetic?

they really need to sue Etch-A-Sketch and the people that make dry erase boards too.

This^ Samsung was a vendor for Apple. It took Apple 2-3 years of development to get the first iPhone out. Samsung then came out with their's less than a year after the iPhone. Easy when the parts are already in your bin. No doubt Samsung has the capability to build some amazing products, but their inspiration for the last batch of phones was clearly from Apple.

Now, of course screens are rectangle and the phone/tablet over all look will follow. Nobody did it in the trade mark minimal style as Apple though.

My tablet looks nothing like Apples.

Just went to the Apple store to price out an iPad mini... after tax and cover it was about $403 for the wifi only. I didn't order it. Instead, I realized I have about $60-75 in iTunes gift cards lying around (gifts I received for birthday, Christmas, etc. over the past 3-4 years and never used). I did the live chat with customer support and asked if I could use them towards the purchase, and they said, "no." The gift cards can only be used for apps or music - no product or accessories. I call Bullshit on that.

I'll bet you would have paid $303, right? As I said earlier...about $100 overpriced for the non-Apple Fanatics.

when will they sue Samsung for coming out with the Galaxy S3 Mini? Or the Note II? I mean, haven't they patented the word "mini" and any use of numbers in a product version?
