Hey Slappy, Fuji Techs gave the nod.

Currently running 6.6.2. With the new update I've been told that it is actually slower in real world experience and NOT to update yet.

Quote from: Slappy on July 17, 2018, 10:41:11 AMNot sure when/how this changed, but in my client when I drag a horizontal guide to the bottom edge of the plate preview (in Edit Template mode) the numerical value is like 1.17" when I know the "true" position is .28" because that's the gripper limit. I think it's adding the physical plate area to that guide value, but I don't want it! Grrrrrrrr.

In the wrenchy icon half way down in Position. Change where your measuring from. i.e.: plate / paper.

Quote from: AaronH on July 12, 2018, 11:39:42 AMIf you can't delete it by right clicking and getting a delete option in the pop up menu, you can hit delete on your keyboard, not the one that would be backspace on a windows keyboard, but the one under FN or next to End above the arrow keys.

That should allow you to delete it.

Elaine ---> Get...out!!  Worked.

It also can be deleted in 'Page Mapping' / Clean up.

I've had it happen also and never worked out a solution.
I usually just create a new job and start again.

Fujifilm XMF / Re: remapping colorbars
July 05, 2018, 07:48:06 PM
Just a side note:
IF you use Global sheet Marks or Intelligent Marks, make sure your Stripping Sheets do not contain any of the Marks on them when assigned or they will double up or possibly contain the wrong type of colour bars needed for the press.

I think maybe I can get in, find the Archive file, copy it onto the server Desktop, then Import from Archiver... I think...

You hit the nail on the head!

What Software do you use for Wide Format Software?
Looking at either upgrading our old ONYX RIP software to the new version 18 or swapping to Caldera Grand RIP+.

Does anyone have any real life experience with either? Or can you recommend another that I should be looking at.
Really looking to increase our speed because as you know clients can't wait.

Cheers in advance!

Hey Mate,

I'll have a guess and say that your trigger to archive the job is "After Last Activity". Change it to After Job Completion and give it a spin.

Quote from: Slappy on June 12, 2018, 10:02:41 AMNeed to update our Prep Macs to 10.13 - is it safe? I can't seem to find any documentation on the Fuji site.

I have been running XMF 6.6.2 on a laptop to test for the last few months and it works fine. Actually find it more stable than some of our older systems running it.

Quote from: danydany on May 12, 2018, 02:29:02 AM:hello:  Hello everyone,is there any ISO standards for digital press using toners like Indigo or Xeikon? If not what standards you guys use to calibrate them for color reproduction?Anything is better then nothing. Thanks in advance .. ;)

Hey Danydany
Perhaps the PDF attached may help.
I generally make the operator run about 30 sheets, I take the last 5 and measure them, average your results. Adjust etc,
depending on how the machine is maintained will depend on how many times a day you will need to do this.

Good luck.

Quote from: Tracy on April 12, 2018, 08:57:26 AMso all you have to do to send that 1 page is drag a proofing icon to the press icon not the plate icon
and turn off pages you don't want.
not sure if the layout of 1 page was the question.
If you need screen shots let me know.
Ahhhh, so that kind of works. The only way I can assign pages though, is to check the "Use Imposition From" box and then it applies the full impo, and I have to set the Template underneath that check box to None so the pages are loose. Is that the process you go through too?

Hi Slappy,
You will need to create a new template first. Say have one for A4 (or set it to resize automatically) 4 across the width of the sheet) for example.
Uncheck "Use Impo from"
Then select your "new template" where it ironically indicates template.

If that works for you, go back into the job and right click on the PDF icon and "Save settings & Name it". Then every other time you need a proof just right click the PDF and go to what you named it.
I have them set up for full sheets size, with and without ruled up margins. If outputting a PDF for digital you have to remember you can't select Perfecting as a work style, it has to be sheet work.

Let me know if you need more help and Ill send screenshots.

Cheers

Hey Frailer,
It is to do with the Mac OS your running. You will never get it to work unless you go back to 10.6 ish.
PC world is not effected I believe. Could you make the 3D direct from your sever.

I feel your pain also.  :cane:

Hi Tracy, been a couple of crazy months in my life. Back into Prepress full time after automating myself to redundancy from the last company.

Now on the West Coast so even further away.

Tracy, you will find it in –  Administrator / Templates / Workflow Items Templates.

Drew, another way of doing it would be to (make a PDF of you company logo and import as a Mark) create as Intelligent Mark and lock it to the bleed of the job. If the template is set to Auto page size it will adjust automatically with the job size. You can run all the other bits of info you need as a slug line.
