I can ditto this. I tried playing an MP4 of Saturday Night Fever on the iMac and it lagged every couple of minutes playing catch up with itself. Sloooooow.

Like everything in the disco era it just needs some blow.
Speed doesn't kill, rapidly becoming stationary is the problem

Quote from: DCurry on January 03, 2011, 01:26:40 PMMine was a pre-FireWire model, hence the crazy workarounds. I do love the look of those old iMacs, though. Some people turn them into aquariums, which I think would be really awesome. Just seems a little too labor-intensive for me, though.

Only a matter of time before Apple's marketing machine gives us the retro models, with all the latest guts inside. The coloured bulge at the back could be a swing-out for disk/DVD storage. A bit like the nose on one of those Antonovs. Do you think Apple would share some revenue with me if I submit the idea?  :naivebastid:

Just wondering... can you put any ATA HD into a Mac, or does it need to be a special one. I have an 80GB in my Vista box at home I'm not using, and I was thinking I could drop it into this iMac and do a clean format/install of OS9. Am I outta my mind?  :drunk3:
