I have a packaging problem that I'm having trouble with.

I'm working on a project that I need a template for a label that will fit a 5 Gallon bucket.  They want it to wrap around the entire bucket.  I made a straight "Banner", but it didn't lay flat. 
I'm guessing I need to do some sort of warp in Illustrator, maybe? 

Any help would be appreciated.

We're looking for another seat of Dot Spy.  Actually, just need the dongle with the dongle & encoding numbers.

We've upgraded to the Server License version.  I'd like to have the additional seat so I don't have go to the Blood Sausage's desk to view files.

I'm looking to replace my digital camera.  While packing for Cozumel (9 days, 19 hours til Takeoff, but who's counting?) I discovered my old one crapped out on me.  Turns on, lens pops out, but the back display is dead.

Any recommendations on cameras under $200.00?  Looking for something that takes good pictures, durable.  Prefer to NOT use AA or AAA batteries.  Not looking for a $49.99 "Throw-away".

I picked up a used Power Mac G5, but it is not set up for wireless.  I don't want to run a cable to by office downstairs.

We rc'd Illustrator CS5 PDFs.  4/C + Spot.  Lots of Gradient Meshes (Process with Spot Color transparency overlays).

We dropped the PDF into Nexus (8.4 Rev. 2).  When we open it in ArtPro, the meshes are getting rasterized and are turning White.

Yes, I know we are running an older version of Nexus - we are limited by the OS of the Nexus boxes - new boxes are ordered and will be here in a couple of weeks. 
We are running ArtPro 9.0 Rev. 8.

We are running mockups for a photo shoot right now, so anything to get SOMETHING proofed will be good enough.

Recreating a job from film, last run about 10 years ago.  Customer wants us to recreate as close as possible.  The photo to be used is a scan of a previously printed carton...top notch, huh?

We are currently using file management software called Job Server, made by CSS Solutions.  Works really nice all the way around - ease of searching, archiving, sorting, blah blah blah.

We are (unfortunately) considering switching, since we were informed that it is being phased out.

What does everyone else use for data management?  We'd probably like to switch on 1/1/2011.

I've been asked to modify our Preflight workflow so the Preflight Report is saved on a server NOT associated with Nexus.  In Graphics, we have our own mini-network - Job_Server, (2) Nexus boxes, and a Back-up server (for archiving printed jobs).  They want to save the Preflight reports on the main company server.

The problem (as I see it) in in the Archive/Export module, I can only select the "Default Server" as a target.  I'm connected to the company server, but I do not see that as an option for targeting the final location.

Any help would be appreciated.

We are getting our plates by the skid, but they are coming wrapped 25 (I think) in plastic.  We used to get them in bulk, no plastic wrapping.

Anyone else get them this way.  We've been bugging the sales guy to get them back in bulk packaging, but no luck.

How are your plates coming in?

I know this looks very easy to recreate, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has this logo as vector art?

I'm not even sure if it's the right name...that's what our customer is calling it.  White background on the box, NOT grey, as he gave it to me.

I'd appreciate it if I could "borrow" a copy.

Running Power Layout, 8.6 Rev 5.


Problem we're having is building a new layout, rerun files.  


When the links are placed, they are showing up invisible on screen.  They are there, because when checked in DotSpy, everything looks good.  However, when invisible on screen, we cannot generate a CIP3 file for the press.


The files were run about 2 months ago, and everything was fine.


Ideas anyone?

I'm trying to talk my wife into replacing our PC at home with a Mac.  I'm just about there.  One sticking point is Microsoft Word.  There is no Calendar Wizard for the Mac.

She does some scheduling things for Church, and she uses Calendar Wizard on the PC.  She hates the fact that she cannot create calendars on the Mac, without manually plugging the dates.  She wants to keep it in Word, because a lot of the older ladies will freak it their calendars come in a different format - she doesn't want to re-train them all on how to see their calendars.

Ideas, anyone?

We've upgraded to Leopard, and our old Bar Code software won't work on it...the old software was Matthco.  It was so old we only have the original on a floppy!

Anyway, what are you guys using to build your barcodes.  We've gotta upgrade, and I'd like some recommendations.

I'm having problems building Marks files for Power Layout.

The 1st set I built (and have been using since 2005) all work great.  Scanner bars, Side Guide Marks, etc.

I need to make modifications due to some Die Cutting "Eye Marks" they want to add.

What is happening is when the we hit "Generate Marks" (Pointing to the appropriate Marks file), the marks come in stroked with no fill.  If I "File > Open" the same file in Power Layout, the marks look fine.

I'm currently downloading the old version (8.1 Rev. 4) of ArtPro I used to create those marks, to see if that helps.

Good morning all,We have a new job, printing on foil board. We've printed on foil before, but have never run a proof thru Nexus/ArtPro using Opaque White.My question is, do we create the color as 0C 0M 0Y 0K ? Do we create it as a color you can see?Last time we did this, it was before we had Nexus. We created 2 proofs...one showing all colors except Opaque White, and one proof showing the White as another color.When it comes to the .LNK file, how would we create (and trap) the Opaque White?Thanks in advance,beck

I got called back to remake a plate tonight (9:00 PM my time).  Scratched in pressroom.  We do not have a 2nd shift prepress.

The policy here is actual work time + 1 hour, for travel.

I live 12 minutes from work.  I spend more time driving than it takes to make the plate.

Just wondering what everyone else gets...

We upgraded to ArtPro 8.6 Rev. 7 on Monday.  We have (2) Macs - mine has been in our Department for 2 years, the other is refurbished, new to us Monday.

Mine is OK.  On the other one, every time a file is opened, there is a black outline on all the elements (see attached file).  We compared Prefs on both machines, and they match.  He dumped his prefs, started over, same thing.
