Update - Week 3 of the lockdown.....

Working from home is going OK but I have a lot of in-between time.  Online gaming is a great help but I thought it would be good to learn a new hobby.  A friend sent me a link to some free software for Modular Synthesisers.  This is what's keeping me sane at the moment;  vcvrack.com (pic attached)

A guy I used to work with plays with those in the real world. It's technology meeting music.
He's all over all the music platforms barry-jamieson and inkfish

We did a few of these back in the day by applying a wafer seal type sticker that had the silver already printed on top of it. They were short run, a few thousand.

I just let indesign number the pages 1-1,000 etc. Export to a single PDF with 1,000 pages and then print 3 sets "uncollated" so it goes page 1, page 1, page 1, page 2, page 2, page2...etc.

Macintosh / Re: Change an Apple ID
January 03, 2019, 07:08:02 AM
If it's his personal account he used then you won't be able to change it. You can't merge two Apple Id's together do to various digital rights management issues.

Now if it was a work e-mail he used and you know the password you can change the email address associated with the apple ID.

If that's not an option you may...may be able to transfer the purchase licenses.  It's a long shot for that but contact Apple at:

Quote from: wonderings on October 03, 2018, 02:50:01 PMQR codes can be a bit difficult to use and something you need to add on to use. I think they never got traction as it was not automatically integrated into a phones camera, it was another app to add, open, scan and then see what is there.  There needs to be a simpler way to access a QR code for it to catch on with non tech people.

In IOS 11 Apple updated the software to recognize QR codes.  If you just open your iphone camera and frame the QR code in it a link to Safari will pop up and take you immediately over to QR codes landing page or it can scan data directly into your address book

We find a decent amount of use for them in newsletters. Helps keep the page count down and adds live video to a static piece.

On the contacts part we use them for trade show badges or corporate badges.

Oh and we get to charge ZERO extra for it.

We just got our new invoice order and they say ours is jumping up to $79.99 per month per user for the Team plan. We have 11 users which means we are going to have to pay $10,558.68 per year for the pleasure of using the Adobe products.

Guess it's time to buy Adobe stock.

It can be as cold as 58 and as high as 75.  No humidity control.  Big cinder block walled room with a wall air conditioner and heating vent. They slip my meals through the bars in the windows.

So we ran the tables with every vendor and looks like we are going with a Ricoh C7100 with 5th color.  We liked the oversized sheet ability 13 x 27.5 as well as the white and clear toner. It's going to be me doing pre-press and running the digital "press"...benefits of being the "young" (I'm 46) brother.

Thats actually a full SSD.  Fusion drive would say..you guessed it Fusion Drive.

Fusion drives are part ssd and part traditional HD.  Opperating system and heavily used assests run on the ssd part and older files and lesser used stuff sits on the HD.  Gives you ssd like performance to a point without breaking the bank.  Your IT guy stepped up to the plate 512gb ssd is better than 1 TB fusion in my book as the ssd part of the fusion is small less the 50 gbs
