JVM and Oracle

Anyone know what the commercial situation is with Java? is it an open source environment? Does Oracle get a revenue stream?

You could read for days on whether Java is open source or not. It is but it isn't. Oracle has a different view of what is "open source" than the rest of the world. They give away the java client but they make a ton of money off of their server-side software and their developer tools.

You could read for days on whether Java is open source or not. It is but it isn't. Oracle has a different view of what is "open source" than the rest of the world. They give away the java client but they make a ton of money off of their server-side software and their developer tools.

So... Fuji would be paying for the tools to develop the 3D rendering proofing which runs in JVM...   :undecided:
