Using Rampage 10.6 (still  :sarcasm:)

Need to figure out this Ganging feature. I can't tell if this requires Gateway or not. We don't use it and it isn't installed, maybe that's why it won't work?

I have Preps 5 with the gang feature and I don't even use it. A few minutes and some math and I have what I need.

We have a couple of very large books and want to be able to randomly select pages and proof them. Now, the pages come off of the Epson 9800 one at a time. We would like to have them sent to a queue and then proofed when the number of pages fills a row.

I use Rampage FPO and then gang my fpo's in an InDesign doc that I export to PDF for Rampage as a proof.  The only issue with doing this is I have to use Indy CS2 because CS3 and CS4 and I'll guess CS5 since I don't have it, remove OPI comments from FPO's on PDF export. I could use eps Fpo's but I'd rather not change my workflow at this point. No idea why and I've even argued with a few people at Adobe about this to no avail. Rampages "gang" feature is to strange to bother with IMO. WTF is a container and who came up with the bright idea to use  that terminology? It's sure not American. BTW I'm still using 10.6 as well, no money to upgrade...

Yes, you need a Gateway setup for using that feature of Rampage. I have instructions in my user manual (for 11.2) that talk about the setup. Not sure of the implementation in 10.6....but I'd check there first.

If you need the blurb from the 11.2 manual, PM me and I'll send it to you. (not sure if it's the same though...)

If you get jumped into a gang, can you get out?
"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"

I have the documentation, thanks anyway MWC.

Too bad the FPO can't be used in CS4 or CS5, that could have saved me.

The FPO can be used in all versions of Indy IF you make an eps FPO. Only a PDF FPO gets the comments stripped.
