Hi Folks!

Anyone know if you can request approval using an RBA? I am not seeing an action for it, but I am a little slow :)

Thanks,
Michael

General Prepress / XMPIE vs Smartstream Designer
August 07, 2019, 08:25:48 AM
Hi folks,

We have a new project we are bidding on and I had a question for those who know these software packages. We use smartstream designer some for our work, but this won't be ran on Indigos so XMPIE was suggested. In researching this morning, it looks like XMPIE is basically Smartstream designer in how it operates, or have i missed something?

Thanks for any views, reviews, criticisms, or general malaise :)

Enfocus / Switch and Pitstop Server
March 21, 2019, 01:52:27 PM
I wanted to make sure of something, but to run Switch you need Pitstop server, correct? The website is a tad confusing. Our ultimate goal was to use the HP EPM module, and I don't know that we need everything else that comes with Pitstop Server and Switch.

Greetings!

I was made aware yesterday that people have to go into into each job and change the status to completed after all the pages are approved. Sounds like RBA time, but I can't get it to work. The only option I see is in the screenshot and that changes the status when ONE page is approved.

We are moving one of our customers to Insite and they do a shit ton of jobs, so this is going to be a pain if I can't find a way.

Anybody?

Kodak Systems / Adding customers to insite
November 19, 2015, 02:58:05 PM
So the guy who handles insite it out this week so I am trying to create a new customer and add people to it. It lets me add them just fine, but I can't set them to be approvers. They are approvers for other customers, but not this newly created one.

What am I missing? Check box somewhere for sure lol

CMS - Proofing - Printers / color management
September 10, 2013, 08:33:11 PM
anyone able to get fairly close to matching... offset(5 presses. KBA, 2 CD102's, an SM74 and an XL105), An indigo 5600, an Indigo 5000, a Durst 1000, an Inca S40, some random Fuji Acuity, a 6 color Carousel Silkscreen, and 10 Epsons?? OH, have an Indigo 20000 ordered for next year) I haven't yet and am thinking of giving up and making this someone else's problem. This is spread out over two printing companies. I can't control anything but what I am giving the presses, which seems to be a problem if I can't control what they are doing.... Walmart greeter here I come.

Boss man wants to save some cash by not being raped by Epson for their inks.  I can dig it, that shit is way overpriced.

From what research I have done it isnt a good idea for various reasons(clogging print heads, inconsistent color batches, shit just not fitting right)

My question... anyone here use non Epson ink in their proofing Epsons and NOT had issues??

Feel free to pick on said bossman, doubt I get a raise if we save some money on the cost of the proofing ink we use...

December 14, 2009, 08:54:45 AM
Greetings!

We have a 6 color carousel press and are trying to increase the line screen. We currently run at 59 line and all is well. I have nill experience determining the correct angles/mesh count/line screen combinations to prevent moire. I have done research online and all the suggestions etc come out horrible. If anyone has any leads on how to determine the correct angles for the linescreen/mesh count etc it would be much appreciated. if there is any information i can give to help you help me just let me know. We image direct to screen using a CST imager, no film involved. Thanks in advance for any help.

General Prepress / Micro Printing
August 05, 2009, 07:39:01 AM
Greetings! We are trying to get a large job, but it requires microprinting for security reasons. Does anyone have any experience with this, and is it something that can be done with traditional offset presses?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
