The first version of Xitron Navigator with the built in imposition didn't have multi-web imposition, so I was using .jdf out of Preps. I shared thousands of web press imposition templates in exchange for a deal on an upgrade, once my multi-web templates were implemented. Was super awesome after that!

Love the guys at Xitron! I worked with them 20 years ago, when Dan was an install tech and now he is the bossman. Excellent company and software, in my experience.

Agreed, I don't always overprint black. Things like news webs don't run a very dense black and looks terrible to overprint certain things.

We have 3 Konica Accurio presses (2 @ C3080s and 1 @ C4070), each with its own Windows Fiery server but have had a computer go down and use another command workstation to prep and send. It works but wouldn't want to do full daily production that way. We are using current Windows masheens with solid state drives, but would probably give you some headaches sending to to printers at once, with an older computer.

We never print from workstations but send PDFs to hot folders for the specific printer, then prep using CMD Workstation 6.5.x. I run them in APPE mode mostly and rarely use .ps anymore.

Yeah huh! Totally did! The best part, his wife is a creative director at a large, local company and an Adobe user. I told him to ask her why I am quitting.  ;D There were other issues happening but that was the last straw.

I was designing logos, posters and FB ads for my previous band, using Adobe products... my drummer suggested Canva to me as a free, easy way to do our branding, so I quit the band! You can say anything you want about my playing but I don't want to be told to use Canva!

I've seen the Excel groupies... not much incentive compared to the barre chords.

Adobe Acrobat / Re: Update to Acrobat caused problems

This happened to me to, Bubbles... forgot about the hidden updater for Acrobat and now PitStop is almost unusable. Select an object and everything goes blank. I can still use actions and GC but I'm flying blind. This is an older PitStop and I reckon it is finally time to update to a subscription.

All of this gets me into update hell. My main production masheen is still on Catalina, using 2023 versions of InDesign, etc... and Suitcase for font management. I'm reluctant to let the Mac update to Sonoma and update all of my Adobe stuff, for fear of losing days of production trying to sort it out if it turns into a mess. I still use older InDesign to handle PS fonts and not sure I will be able to use any of that once I upgrade.

Epson tech? You should be able to purchase your own baseball bat and take care of it yourself. Wear eye protection.
