CMS - Proofing - Printers / Re: Epson 9800 ghosting
January 28, 2010, 09:27:50 AM
When you say ghosting I think of a second series of a lighter part of the image or type. It sounds more like the dark blue background is not consistent - going from good color to lighter color but not actually a lighter copy of an image that was shifted over? If it is an actual ghost of type or an image - I have never had that issue before. I wouldn't know where to b egin with that one.
It sounds like you did most of what I would have done. Have you tried a nozzle check, check platen gap, clean head pad for the gunk, you may even need a power clean.
Is the paper you are using coated? I have found that uncoated paper will produce the varied color results you are getting.

How is your HR Dept. going to know if the answers are correct or not?

How would you convert RGB 0,0,0 to 100K in a PDF?

How would you modify the page boxes in a PDF?

How do you rebuild the Page List? (Rampage question)

You have 3 spot colors of Red that are the same in a file that need to be combined, how?

Kodak Preps / Re: JDF, Preps and Rampage (oh my!)
October 28, 2009, 08:17:47 AM
Quote from: Joe on October 27, 2009, 11:29:56 PMFor example, if you had a network share where you printed all of your JDF's to named "My JDF Jobs" that resided on Server1 you would have to enter the path as

//Server1/My JDF Jobs

This makes sense. The path inside the jdf file is technically accurate for the Marks location (see your example). It is not the correct path in actuality (appletalk@Server/My JDF Jobs). When I get in to work I'll have to find out how to modify the path.

Kodak Preps / Re: JDF, Preps and Rampage (oh my!)

I have a template that has 16 pages of blanks, no marks & no text. Preps makes a JobName.jdf with a Folder "JDFMarksFlats" with a JobName.pdf in it.

I drop the .jdf into Rampage and it errors that it cannot find the Marks. The JDFMarksFlats Folder is in the same folder as the .jdf.

WTF am I doing wrong?

I see you have Rampage 10.4 and Preps 5.3.3, I was told that these two versions don't play nice. Are you having any troubles?

RAMpage / JDF
October 14, 2009, 05:51:58 PM
I use Rampage 10.6 and Preps.

Need to figure out how to use this JDF stuff. I don't use it and I don't have any manuals or info.

Does anyone have a tutorial or something?

Late to the party,

You save a file from Rampage to a Hot Folder?

I don't understand how your set up ever worked without an RPD.

All of my DoubleProof settings are in the RamProof Device Profile.

I would kill for G7 training and certification.

That said, there is a G7 certified printer near me that is 100% crap. How the heck they got certified I'll never know.
