Adobe Photoshop / Re: Printing out_problems
December 10, 2008, 06:14:23 PM
Two things that MIGHT help-
1. At home (PC) I print direct from Photoshop CS2 - USE the "Print with Preview" option, it helped me sort out a few bugs (press ctrl/cmd-SHIFT-P)
2. I also use an Epson (they ROCK), if the option is there in the Setup for the printer - turn on "Preview", it allows the file to be assembled and shows you a CLOSE representation of what you will get, especially good if you're trying different Profiles and stuff!

Adobe Photoshop / 2nd hand copy of Photoshop...
December 09, 2008, 12:03:22 PM
I saw a used copy of Photoshop CS the other day at the local GoodWill operated computer store, for only $20.
It is a legit copy and I am thinking about buying it for a FRIEND ... because all my programs are legit, legal and above board!

Anyone tell me any cons of buying second hand programs (considering I KNOW this isn't just a burnt version) as I was thinking about buying it and maybe even paying for the trade-up???

Any help, advice, stories of experience appreciated ...

I once went to WAR with a rat that was too tough to get caught in a trap!! I worked in a bar, and for a full week he cleaned out the rat trap I had set for him, even came out to "say Hi" one night and hang out as  cleaned up ... I was freakin irate.

Finally it dawned on me, if he's too tough for A trap to work, why not try TWO?!
Loaded both traps and set them "face to face" ... both traps had been set off the next morning and never saw that dirty rat again!!

Wish I could have done the same with a few of the customers!

Adobe Photoshop / Funniest "request" thread EVER?!?!
December 04, 2008, 12:33:24 AM
You know "those" people who ask for big things like they're nothing, then continue to conduct themselves the WRONG way!

(The PDF at the start is all I'm talking about.)
I freakin laughed so hard when I saw this, I snotted on myself, TWICE!!

edit- damn, I meant to put this in the Photoshop forum ... admins help?

Quote from: tapdn on December 02, 2008, 10:37:20 AMyep, DCS has a brother and as Tommy Smothers used to say "mom always liked him better!"

I have a Brother and 2 Sisters. None of which are anything like me. They are all happy-go-lucky church goers, that love Jesus and their Momma too. My Brother lives in Idaho, and from when he was age 10, (He's 29 now) I have seen him maybe 5 times. I am sure he would have ended up JUST like me if I was around. And, YES! Mom ALWAYS liked him better... she is now dead to me!
Am I the only one thinking of the infamous Cray Brothers?

Adobe Photoshop / Re: Adobe equivalent... suggestions??
November 10, 2008, 11:35:53 AM
PC ... I've seen a lot of "wholesome/family type" frames (BORING!) on various Adobe apps, but they generally look like crap and despite my lack of design skills, I'm not THAT corny!  :death:

Pictures are coming along REALLY well, and are almost finito! But I need to find a way to send that photographer a case of Yuengling for Christmas  before I start getting into framing the pictures!

Adobe Photoshop / Adobe equivalent... suggestions??
November 10, 2008, 12:12:43 AM
I'm doing a project at the moment, my first picture/photo album, have a rough layout done, just finished 4 hrs of initial Photoshop work (crop, cleaning casts, and fixing low/high colour levels) and am getting a LOT of enjoyment out of a Photoshop PLUG-IN by OnOne software called Photoframe. It seems to do good work and am thinking about shelling out the $$ to buy a copy of Ver3.1 or just register the 4.0 version that I loaded the demo of.
http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=10

Before I do that though, can anyone suggest an Adobe equivalent/version of this program, that makes nice/shiny/artsy looking borders?
I could probably shuffle through the collection of crap I have myself and find 3 programs that do it, but a RECOMMENDATION is always much better.

Anyone?

Quote from: hansonian on October 23, 2008, 06:50:56 AMi've occasionally gotten some prepress answers off of graphicdesingforum.com's prepress section. ...
There's ONE guy on their forums called PrintDriver, you EVER need to print large scale, on strange plastic or some other obscure thing, the guy is CLUTCH!! Seems to know EVERYTHING and uses minimal number of words! IMO based SOLELY on his knowledge, they'd have to get a mention in any pre-press top 10.
Although, I haven't seen any "how do i print a (ridiculous) sized banner on (obscure) stock" question on here!

Side note: (trying not to attract Hectors wrath) Aside from him, admins are reasonably smart/nice but the masses there are kinda thin skinned.

Yeah it's Pre-Press' fault that the PHOTOGRAPHER forfot to turn on the camera's flash, AND judging by those "hard edges" around Brad and Ange, it's Pre-Press fault that they use GRAPHIC DESIGNERS to enhance their photos!!!
