What do you all think is the best application to clone a hard drive to a larger hard drive to install into the same machine (after pulling the old one)?

I've used Carbon Copy Cloner for the exact same thing and it worked great the 3-4 times I've done it.

I install the new hard drive into an empty slot in the Mac, format it, and then clone the master HD to the new HD.
Shut down the mac, pull the orig HD out, put the new HD in the first slot and reboot.
If all the planets are aligned properly, it should just boot right up and voila!

Do you use the free version? I'm still battling with the impossible task of a Windows backup. It's own built in backup utility doesn't even work...craps out with thousands of errors and fails. I'm going to try this.

Data backup or full system backup?

For data I've been using Karen's replicator for years.

Being the cheap bastid that I am...you know I'm using the free version.
