hi all

i ve got this preflight
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8RZW880FifXSTg4MHNqV0ZScUk/edit?usp=sharing

 and this pdf
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8RZW880FifXNHYwYThCYjJleVk/edit?usp=sharing

.....as you can see there the bleedbox is smaller than trimbox......there is no bleeds, couse it is A4......i cant set the preflight to detect this error.........and can not switch off the "page size" detection......and where to set the detection "hey man the bleedbox is smaller than trim" ?

I forgot shared the links....its ok now

abc

I guess you knew was coming. There's an action list specifically for this check.

elko

I didnt know about this action check......i will try that..........but isnt it the same as this in preflight??

mmmm.....the setting i posted before didnt work............after adding the checking action into the preflight, testing and switching off.......the setting works  :homer:

the more important isssue is why the preflight dont detect the missing bleeds??...............and how to switch off the "page size" detection

abc

Ok I took a look at the preflight profile again.

and can not switch off the "page size" detection - that's easy, just delete the page size check?

and where to set the detection "hey man the bleedbox is smaller than trim" ? - that's covered with the check you have already

why the preflight didn't detect the missing bleeds?? - that's because based on the current boxes and checks everything is ok

What you should also add is a value (3mm)  for the safety area for objects that are close to the trim, that flags the objects that are close to the trim but don't bleed.
That's the first section of the 'objects do not have enough bleed' check.

This is then reported in the preflight check

One other thing I forgot is that the automatic fix (which is not enabled) works well with this file.

It only works with rectangular objects (for safety reasons), but the tab you have on this page is rectangular so if you enable the fix it is automatically extended and bleed added

....i had reduced preflight window!!......so I haven't seen the roll-up menu "Actions".......I was clicking everywhere :))

yes...its working now

yes you are right...........of course it cant find missing bleeds when they the trimbox and bleedbox are set well for bleeds ...........

It looks good...but I am still very careful to use pitstop for automatic fixes...........I tried this fix on this pdf https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8RZW880FifXTUlQZ0xMSkM3cGc/edit?usp=sharing  and it extended only tap on one page......... whats wrong?

abc

Works for me!

are you maybe running the preflight/fix on the whole document on or just one page?

I would always eyeball as well personally to make sure.

elko

it is running on the whole document and alowed fixes

it is my setting on the picture plus set the fix.....and only odds pages are changed

it is strange, the preflight reports "close objects to the edge" only on second page but the fix changes only the tab on first page......????

abc

elko

it works....but I dont understand why the previous version changed only object on the first page..............both objects are close to the edge and both dont have bleed

abc

I think it's because you didn't have any values in the safety area check.

So it was seeing the left and right pages differently
