Poll
Question:
How much do you make per Hr?
Option 1: $10-13
Option 2: $14-16
Option 3: $17-20
Option 4: $21-25 (or salary)
Option 5: $26 or salary
Would like to get a running poll...let it build.
I'm working on a raise ???...I think it could help for an avg.
Tks!
Why did you stop at 26? I think you should stop at 40
Anyway as a manager I am on salary...
Salary here as well. As long as you don't divide it by the number of hours I have to work and/or be on call... I guess I'm doing ok.
A while back (a little over a year ago now I guess...) I did a little research on supervisor / manager rates.
Here are the averages I came up with.
Industry Average suggest $52,505 - $55,120
Look at PIA & GATF, and some other organizations for studies they've done on this.
Hope it helps Hope it helps Hope it helps

I wouldn't do my job for that much money...
just sayin' is all.
It's an average. Not a say all.
Some make much more, some make much less.
That is supposed to be "middle of the road".... ya know?
In between the high & the low end....

Gotta say I agree with you...
of course , I'm actually still on the clock, so I do get my overtime, and I mean, I do get my overtime.
You guys are lucky! Here in Phil. we make only $3.00 per hour. Thats above average here already. Is anyone willing to hire me? ;D
So do you guys think the average I posted is wrong?
KEYWORD: Average
There are a lot of variables to consider for an average supervisor/manager salary. You have the usual knowledge, experience, size of the company etc. But location plays a big part too. A lot depends on where you live and how much competition there is.
In my case... for where I live... for the size of the company... it's definitely on the low side. But as you said, it's an average.

Exactly. Thank you, I was thinking no one read the word "average"
And as you stated, there are a lot of variables. We're talking about shops making 1-2 million a year and shops making over 100 million a year.
Huge variance in pay, and probably the most important variable is the market/location.
I've done a study... it may not be 100% accurate - but it got me a raise. ;D ;D
And the
average pay was in the mid 50's.
:ninja:

If you do your homework and can justify your argument... it usually works.
Congratulations.
Thank you very much.

hey, no fair...
get me one too!!!
Now that you mention it, it has been a while for me too... I'm due.
:-\
i think, from a brit point of view, your average was about right
manager here (please - dont laugh) and am salaried - but come to think of it, it's been a while since I got a little reward. on the other hand, we do get annual wage rises of about 2.3percent - if we're lucky!
I hate overtime, there is another world after work!

Now where is the Average for ?
And where is the $30+ selection ?
LRob,
The average is from across the US. From you shop to mine, the big ones, the small ones, the shops in Metro area, and in the back woods.
If you look & dig hard enough, you may find the same thing... unless I'm the only one willing to do the leg work - in which case, I'm the only one with the data.
Please, someone prove me wrong. If I am wrong...
I'm thinking you your other ? is in reference to the poll. Correct?
Damn...well that gives me something to look at. Tks.
Raise day is Mon...I'm just hoping for $16, just 2yrs steady at prepress.
I still handle a bunch more shit.
I'll prob get $15...just got a write-up for missing days. I quit a couple of weeks ago &
was asked to come back. I got a write up for that...LOL WTF. So, well see.
The boss just wants to fuck with me....how fun.
I'm thinking the big shops are where the $$ is.
:o
Looks as if its time for a raise here as well..
Got my raise...thanks all!!
In past talks in PPF, it did not seem like people made much $$.
Now (thanks to this poll) I can see there is something to look forward to for all the Stress.

yep, just provide valid explanation/proof, that your value is higher than they are currently paying you and it becomes a win/win for management to "keep you happy/productive"..
GOOD LUCK!! its time for me as well, no pay increase here since Nov 05'!! :o
we need more voters....
come on people, i heard there are over 100 members out there

Nice reply 30yrs.
Yes, keep voting. It would be cool to see the avg across All members.
$21/hour for the last 2 years. The only time I seem to get any kind of raise is when I get laid off or fired - then hired back (after they realize they really did need me after all). I feel underpaid now thanks to this thread as well - but on the bright side, I'm way overdue for a layoff...
