Tagging images with Metadata

This is more of a Bridge question, but I've started trying to tag several thousand images that have been stockpiled here for a client that we do catalog for regularly. I seem to be able to batch tag PSD files fine, but any Photoshop EPS files it just won't apply tags. I really don't want to re-save (or dupe) all of the EPS files as PSD just to apply tags, anybody had experience with this stuff?
