Christmas of 2008, I made calendars for my wife and Mother-in-law, they had everyone's birthdays on them with other dates and some pictures they both liked. Pressure is on to make them again this year, so I am looking to cut corners by using some scrap paper (from work) to print them on, using my home printer.

My question is: is there any difference between Epson paper and the stuff we print on?

Been quiet here fooz. Why don't you run some tests. Make sure you dry them well, or at least give them some time to dry. Normal offset stocks may not be the way to go, I don't think. I'd imagine those Epson papers have special surfaces for their inks.

Also, prodigitalgear's prices are really good. You may get what you need for a pretty small outlay.

Years ago I tried this and found that the coated paper we print on does not readily absorb the water based inks used in the plotters. The coating in the Epson type plotter paper readily absorbs the inks. I would try Matt coated paper but will bet it also does not work.

Yeah, I was figuring on either a Matte finish, or even some of the better offset stuff, you know that paper you pick-up and immediately say "Niiice!"!  :wink:

I've never found a coated stock we use for print work in an inkjet. But good luck.
