Anyone ever seen someone make a 5% bump like this?

born2print

Hmmmmm. Moving the endpoint seems ok, but the highlight move prolly not ideal

That's not a bump, that's a plug.

I know, when I first started at this company a guy was making a file correction for the press in PS and I was watching going like wtf are you doing and he said I'm making a 5% overall correction. Convinced him that aint right.

So I get to another plant and lookey lookey they are doing it here too. Where might one pick up this highly dubious color correcting technique?

Do you know if that comes in paperback? Obviously I've been doing it wrong for the last couple of decades.

Funny, you should hear the sausages here debating subtractive color theory.

that should put you to sleep.
I always enjoy listening to idiots expounding on subjects that they have no idea of what the hell they're talking about.
cheep entertainment, and of course, I'm easily amused.

Since I haven't had much experience with CMYK color correction in the past, I've always been kind of insecure about my CMYK color correction skills. :embarrassed:

Does anyone have any tips or pointers that would help me out? Anyone know of some some online resources for that kind of thing?

2 general rules to live by for printing on newsprint.

If you have a CRT monitor and it looks good on the screen it will print dark on newsprint.

If you have an LCD monitor and it looks good on the screen it will print VERY dark on newsprint.

My CRT displays dark.

Maybe if it looks good on it, it will look good on newsprint. You can say you have a "calibrated monitor" if it does.
