Brilliant. Thank you Joe

Quote from: Joe on July 24, 2017, 08:05:50 PMGood luck with that. I root for anyone trying to escape printing.
Thank you Joe. Not too long to retirement anyway. Just cruising till the end. (which is very close)

All good Joe. Thank you. Reversed back to the old Prinergy 7.1. Having fonts issues with clients for now. Better this way. Busy as usual and more busy with my other passion. Baking sourdough bread. Love it. Considering a change in life. Prepress is too much for an old guy like me. Starting to have really enough.

Doesn't Prinergy do that with old Brisque files?

Prinergy Acrobat DC plugins for PC
Joe. You are a lifesaver as usual. Partnerplace.kodak.crappyplaceonearth doesn't let me download it. Bad gateway. Thank you so much

I don't actually know if it was 7.5 or 7.5.1. Removed after a week. Kodak not happy either with us. Apparently we are the only one having problems. Ehehehe. Australian Kodak not very happy camper anyway. Failed with Sonora plates big times. Disaster strike. Thank you for your feedback. You are a star. Have a good one

Quote from: Joe on March 14, 2017, 05:23:29 PMIt didn't take us long to get tired of tracking down font issues either. We just set all of our output process templates render settings like this. Haven't had an issue since.

I don't think it is a matter of fonts being legal or not. It is just that they are more picky about the internal structure of fonts. Mostly it is crappy freeware fonts and web fonts that it rejects.

As far as customers we've just been telling them that if they download free fonts from the internet there is a good chance they will have problems with their files and that if they must do it to outline them before they make their PDF.

I don't really see any issues with Workshop in 7.5. What kind of issues were you having with it?
It is very flimsy with java workshop. I have to click out and click again to get to use the right click command (we have 3 machine with 3 operators, all having the same issue). Very slow importing the imposition jdf. We had issues with jobs just with Helvetica or Arial, no funny fonts. Did you ever see a font corruption happening after you tick that option?

We upgraded to 7.5 but we were forced to revert to 7.1 because of the fonts issue and workshop in 7.5 was slower and bugsy. 1 every 5 jobs had the fonts problem. We work with a variety of client, some proper agencies and some cowboys. We couldn't afford the time spent in trying to detect the pages affected especially in school books with 300 pages. How did you find the transition? We are now in a bit of a situation not being sure if we can ever upgrade. Kodak is adamant about the legality of their move and I understand that, but how do you explain clients that they have from now on they have to use fonts "legally"? Just saying

Quote from: Joe on October 15, 2015, 08:45:44 AMJust a thought if it hasn't been tried yet Dan...

Log into the prinergy server with the araxi account. Open Internet Explorer. Under the "Tools" menu select Internet Options. Click the "Connections" tab and then click the "LAN Settings" button. In Lan Settings uncheck the box "Automatically detect settings". Click OK. Click OK. Restart Workshop.
Thank you Joe
Always helpful.
Fixed the problem for us.

Hi all.
Does anyone know a shortcut to delete a file (eg. from an external server) without using the mouse to click delete?
It use to be Command+delete>enter and it was gone.
Now you enter and it cancel the deletion!
I hate it!!!!! :banghead:

Adobe Acrobat / Re: Bleed visible on PC but not mac
December 05, 2010, 12:47:50 AM
This is why PC is better than Mac.
I finally managed to have the old XP machine we used for Darwin all to myself. (the IT guy made an automatic database workflow that works wonders)
Installed Prinergy 5 workshop, Digital Submit, Preps 6 and the all Kodak buzuki, and guess what, my mate has gazillion of problems with his 10.6 and I, miserable cinderella, work at the speed of light with my humble PC.
How's that.
