General Prepress / HP DesignJet T930
March 09, 2017, 12:37:15 PM
Our company recently purchased an HP DesignJet T930 to use for double-sided proofing, the printer is fast, has good colour, but we've run into a snag with our "double-siding". The curl of the paper which is very hard to get uncurled ends up getting hit by the print head on it's way back through on the 3rd or 4th pass. There is no suction on this machine (a feature I had not thought of). We have managed some success by passing through "blank art" at the size we need and having the machine basically make sheets for us that we then leave out for quite a period of time to flatten. Then it works fine. That being said, it's time-consuming, anyone on here has this type of machine and possibly better success at double-siding with it?

Hello all,
We have reached the point of requiring a new 36" plotter for client proofing. We have one that we use for colour plotters and one that we use for low-resolution content plotters. It's the content plotter that is needing to be replaced. The one we were using was an HP Designjet 1050 and we could print one side and refeed the cut sheet back through to print on the second side and then fold by hand the way the press would fold it to ensure our pagination is correct and then to send to the client. What I'm wondering is what other's are using? We also used to have an HP5500 with a double-sided attachment that would re-feed the paper and print the second side but that one is also shot. So I'm looking for recommendations on printers that would allow us to make a double-sided plotter.

RAMpage / Rampage Version 13 and Yosemite
April 23, 2015, 12:54:23 PM
Has anyone upgraded to a newer Mac and running OS Yosemite while still using RAMpage version 13? We're looking at upgrading to new computers as ours are 8 years old now and still running Snow Leopard.

CTP - CTF / Air Filtration unit
January 02, 2015, 12:07:36 PM
Hello,
We're running a Fujij CTP with a PAT 506id air filtration unit that has stopped working, being that this is Friday and the day after new years it's not possible to get someone today to fix it... my question is, does anyone know if it is damaging to the CTP to run say 8 plates without this filtration unit running?
