Wow, that always was a pain in the ass..... better late than never!
Can I step all the way back to when the client should have used InDesign instead of Photoshop, and then smack them in the face with a cold mackerel?
Yes please.
I'll second that.
I thought you already could with Command+Shift+Z...
shhhh, don't tell anyone. It's a trade secret.

You jinxed me. I got a 64 page job today all done in Photoshop and supplied flattened .psd files. All black text was 4 color and was sitting on a crappy ghosted 4 color image. Customer approved it over my objections. Bang! Zoom! Away to plate and I don't give a damn!
:lmao:
I'm laughing WITH you, just know that. :hello:

I never give that stuff much thought. We do what we can, we inform the customer of the issues and what they can expect if they approve for print. After that it is all their issue. We have them sign off proofs and we are done with it.
Which is what I did. But that won't be the end of it when they come back complaining about it.
The thing is I find it hard to typeset in photoshop
64 pages? must be a photoshop guru or took em a lot of time

I bet they have a hacked version of Photoshop CS6 and that is it. When dealing with Photoshop files supplied by customers I will usually just hide the text layer and reset it in Indesign if I have to make changes. Can be quicker then fighting around Photoshop. Of course for 64 pages that is another story. Hopefully was not all in one photoshop page with each page on a different layer.

Trust me it was no Photoshop guru. Photoshop gurus know that Photoshop is not a page layout application. They use it for retouching and correcting photos. Like it was designed for. ;D

That is my guess too. It was 64 .psd files. Flattened .psd files.

And I bet they were very proud of it.
And finally! Previewing font list with selected text.
FREEFORM GRADIENTS! So long mesh tool! I'm both excited and skeered.
You can also now activate and sync as many fonts from Typekit that your little heart desires.

I saw that too. So far, I like.
I'm not sure which version they changed it because I stopped updating after this, but they had made it so you couldn't set "number of recent fonts" to "0" in prefs and now it's 0-15.
dammit adobe... my mac got updated and it wiped out my older versions of Indesign, Illy and photoshop.
I need to get the ID CC 2015 installer, anyone got one or know where I can get it?. Can't find it on the intertubes

You can download it through the CC app itself
https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html
thanks so much, why do they want to hide this.
I did adobe searches and found this, but it does not exist.
David click "Manage" shown below then click "Other Versions". You should see it then.
got it, thanks for all the help!
I have to many plugins that do not work with the newer apps, like HP Smartstream, etc.

Adobe, like a badger, don't care.
no shit, I mean, it all happened in the blink of an eye, and before I could stop it, all my stuff was wiped out.
Took me about 2 hours to get the apps back and make sure all my plugins and scripts, etc were still there.

I always keep old versions for a while till I am comfortable that the latest version is stable and does everything I need. It seems to remember my choice of keeping the old version but I still always double check when installing a new version.
It doesn't remember my selection from previous installs. The box is always checked to "Remove all previous versions".
yes, it was checked, but it went by so fast and my ole ass eyes didn't catch it fast enough.
and once you start it, you can't cancel.
found out the hard way.

Plug ins? You shouldn't need no stinkin' plug-ins. Adobe is everything you need.
