Trying to create the Recovery Drive on a USB it gets going but gets stuck on at the end and doesn't
finish creating the recovery drive any thoughts?

I reformatted the usb to the fat32 and then the NTSF not sure which to use
but it seems to start working on both but not finishing.

Joe

No errors? How long did you wait?  I don't think it matters how you format it because I think it formats it before it starts creating the recovery drive.

Also how many GB is the USB drive you are trying to use to create the recovery drive?

hubby noticed the clock was off, fixed that and it worked
sheesh tried like 6 times!!!

Tracy

actually don't think it was the clock
maybe I didn't wait long enough, it took about an hour
My dad came over so I wasn't staring at it on that last one

Joe

If the clock isn't set right it can cause all kinds of strange things to happen. Our Prinergy tertiary server sometimes resets its date back to 2008 after doing updates. After that you can no longer access the network shares and Prinergy and Insite won't work. Plus it can't find the Microsoft Update Site.

But if I remember correctly it does take some time for the recovery to get finished.

Yeah, I hate clock issues. Everything seems to work just fine, except one or two vital pieces. And if you don't think of checking the clock (which who does), you can waste a lot of time troubleshooting an issue. So good rule of thumb, ALWAYS check the clock when there is a problem. Could save you a lot of time. Literally.

Is there a good cheap antivirus for my PC?

Joe

Win 10 comes with Windows Defender. That is all I use.
