I haven't tried it yet.

I'm assuming this is just a nod to the season and the hairstyles will be back in 08. Ok, not assuming, demanding the hairstyles will be back in 08.

Oh, it will return - I was just jealous of everyone's holiday-themed avatars like Hermie and the Snow Monster.

Cool post D,

Just for those of you who come here without visiting the front page, Planet Quark is listed on the right hand side

Sorry to be getting back to the original post here, but could someone refresh my memory on why opening Quark files in the same version they were saved to (versions 6 & 7) is important?

Text reflow, the type engine changed, and updated Pantone Libraries.

There is an option to use Legacy Pantone Libraries in QX 7 I believe, not had to use it myself

OK so you download the app to warn you or tell you what version the document will open in...

Is this going to act like the old "Pateboard Extension" did in version 3.2 > 4.0  so unless the "receiver" of the document has this app it won't open in the version it should? or even open at all?

I doubt it - the Pasteboard XT added functionality to actual Xpress docs - this appears to just tell your computer which version of Quark to open the doc with.
