Topic: Square to A4 (Read 524 times) previous topic - next topic

Square to A4

I have 80 Pages PDF, size 210*210mm. I want to convert it to A4 now
Could any one tell me the quick way of doing this job?

So all text and images work perfectly on a4 also.

Thanks

Use a script to place the 80 pages into an a4 indy document.

or

Use your imposition program to place the files in a a4 sized impo.

You could use InDesign Multipage import script
figure out how much you need to enlarge/reduce
and then import it at that percentage.

Changing the size from 210 mm x 210 mm to 210 mm x 297 mm is going to require and un-proportioned scale of 141% in the height. It won't look good.

Just an opinion but the only way to make it look "good" would be to just change the page size in InDesign and reposition/scale items individually until it looks "good". But that is going to be time consuming.

I thought this thread was going to be a funny Chess reference.

Easy to change just the page size to A4, but making it look good is another story.
You could centre it on A4, that might work.
You can use the PitStop Inspector to change the Page Boxes

1. Easiest way it to simply place the 210x210 PDF in the middle of your A4 pages.

2. With the original InDesign file you can use Liquid Layout so when you change the page size it all reflows.  Can be very messy but worth a try.  If you are in a hurry don't try to fix the pages just go back to method 1.
