Long PC File Name Fix?

Cripes, I thought I had dejavu. I just had read that over at the other place. We truncate our file names here. It adds a bit of hassle but it works. Been using dat tapes forever.

We seem to have settled for truncating and updating too. It annoys the operators a little, but it's what we've gottatado

Yep, after trying out a few things with SMB/CIFS I've come to the conclusion we can't use it unless I kill off all of our OS 9 machines. Ain't happening anytime soon.
