Preps 5 something. Can someone tell me what is the name of the marks I should choose in the marks folder that indicate the name of the job, what number sig (sig 1, sig 2 etc.) and indicates front and back?  Thanks!!

Joe

"Text Mark" or "Flat Identifier Text". We use the smartmark named "Text Mark".

Within the Text Mark or Flat ID Mark (I use the Flat ID mark), you need to type "$sig$side" which will give you "1A" and "1B" etc. on the plate. You can also add static text like this: "Form $sig Side $side" which will give you "Form 1 Side A" etc.

Thanks all for that info! It all rings a bell having been some years working with preps, imposing in Indy for 40" presses when our old flow died and then we died. Slowly I'm getting back up to speed. Thanks again.

if you're using Prinergy, this is a neat little thing we just cooked up to replace the need to put anything in preps as far as identifier text. All we type now is customer number/job number in the "Job" field on output and the rest is picked up automagically.

The gray cal strip is uncalibrated (besides linearization and plate compensation curve), no dot gain curve is applied. (see screen shot of template config) so it should be linear, we use this to qc plates, 50% should be 50%. If you set it like the screen shot it will image in the bend area on the plates. I know it looks a mess but it prints out very nicely, with signature, side, workstyle, operator name, plate cal curve, cal curve, date (formatted in english), time, and a very nice bit $[color_offset_block) that prints a box, then color name, in sequence and not all on top of each other.

Saves me stupid repetitive typing.

Sweet! I'll give it a try when I get some time. Like in January.

No Prinergy for me. I'm lucky enough to have an old used ApogeeX flow, like ver. 2.1.2.

Yeah, every time Joe posts a screenshot of Prinergy I am reminded of how much I miss it (even though I only used it for less than a year).

Looks like it only works with Prinergy, not Prinergy EVO

I looked but I couldn't find that location of where you set it up. What version are you running?
