...at home. Son set it up, but it's seemingly dropped off the MacBook. We also have a Mini, which I use (wife uses the MacBook).
We have it hooked USB into the Mini, (TM runs on a 1TB drive). To MacBook via WiFi.

I'll have a proper look tonight, but general steps/clues? I guess start in network Settings... Time Machine Prefs... stuff like that...

Thanks in advance...

Yes assuming it is still mounted on the mini make sure the macbook pro can still see it on the network. If not make sure the USB drive is shared from the mini. I've seen file sharing get turned off for no reason before.

Mine always wanders off, but it always comes back. It's kind of like a cat. Some days it's here; some days it's not. I guess I should leave some food out, but I don't want to get Possums.
"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"
