Hey guys, anyone implemented any colour conversion software that should save on ink? If so what are the results so far?
Im talking about software recognising greyscale and converting it to black instead of using cmy :)
We run Kodak Prinergy and apply a device link profile when pages process that GCRs all files. We have been doing this for about 8 years. It does save a lot of ink.
I have not seen software that that converts cmyk grey to just black.
That sounds great, only one thing,im kinda Prinergy newby :drunk3: ,any chance for a short walk trough and explain how works?

Sorry, just saw your question. You need to have someone create a device link profile and when pages are refined, it does the color convert for you. It works best in a two step refine but we are currently doing this in a single step refine with good results.
Do you have a Partner Place log in? Kodak has some good documentation on how it works.
