The bastards at EFI quit helping once they found out I was on W8 using v3 (which "they don't support").
"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"

I swapped out the Flex folders from my XP machine, and now the licenses are accepted. I can not, however, log in to the software with a login and IP address. I now get this error (see screenshot). I know it's not officially supported on Windows 8, but I bet someone on the forums here has an unofficial workaround. What would the solution be to fix this if it were on an XP box?

Call EFI for support.
Speed doesn't kill, rapidly becoming stationary is the problem

I'd rather have stories told than be telling stories of what I could have done.

You are going to need that license file which you probably have somewhere. You had to have it originally for the XP box.

I read that.

I've found workarounds tend to be more of a pain in the ass than just running a machine that fits the spec.

Well, the options are to build a new machine and roll it back to XP, continue to run it on ye olde antiquated machine that takes 5 minutes to process a single layout, or get anally raped and pay $1600 for the EFI "upgrade."

$1600 is cheap if it includes future upgrades and support.

It requires $1600/year to keep it up to date.
