We recently purchased an OKI C942 with a Fiery Controller and envelope feeder.

We need to do runs of 5,000 at a time or more. We input a quantity of 5,000 in the Fiery, but the machine only accepts a qty of 999 each time. So that means we need to send the job 5+ times. Is there a way to send all 5,000 at once?

I've worked with Oki and Xante printers, and no, that's they way they work. I usually put in 500 quantity at a time so I know how many goes in each box. Even some bigger digital printers have this limit, so it's not like you should have bought something else.

Same here, I use an OKI C941.
Since most boxes of envelopes come in qtys of 250 /500, I usually send 250 at a time. It makes it easier to keep track of in case of a misprint or if the printer decides to eat them. Also makes it easier to re-box once they come out of the printer.

Xante can run any quantity but display only shows up to 999 at a time, but does continue to run if more entered,

We looked at both the Xante and Oki before making the decision. We liked the straight paper path of the Oki. We also liked the white toner option for the occasional unique project. Additionally, it's quite easy to disconnect the env feeder and feed regular paper through the bypass. We have a bigger digital press (Konica Minolta C8000), but the Oki can be a great backup in a pinch since it can do up to 360gsm, along with doing longer banner sheets.

We reached out to Oki about this qty issue and the techs we spoke with acted like the didn't know about it. They looked into it (or so they said) and quickly told us it's just the way it is due to the printer limitation. In another forum, someone with an Oki has the Harlequin rip and they said it will do the 999, then briefly pause, and continue for another 999, and so forth. We've had 2 runs of 10,000 each this week alone, so sending 999 twenty+ times is getting annoying. I'm wondering if there could be a unique work-around with Fiery JobFlow?
