Fujifilm XMF / Re: XMF getting stuck - freezing up?
February 06, 2020, 10:03:29 AM
Thanks Tracy,

Yes we do have a license, but usually it's so hard to "stop what you're doing and call and wait...." you know I'm sure.
We assumed it's a file problem, but we've had it several times in the last week or so. You delete the job from XMF and build a new one and it goes through ok -- just a fluke somehow I guess.

We also have an occasional plate that will expose "BLANK", then we resend that exact plate and it exposes fine. Some glitches occasionally in our network maybe....

Thanks again.

Sorry for the late response everyone.... thank you for your suggestions.

We actually had the installer from Fuji log-in and he kept tweaking some settings within the software that I think actually had to do with the thickness of the paper vs. the default setting and eventually after several adjustments he got it where it prints 100% now. Yes, swapping the paper to our second printer resulted in the same measurements, so we knew it was the paper itself and not the printer.

If anyone else has this, Fuji tech support should be able to help with tweaking the settings for the paper you are using to make it print at 100%.

Fujifilm XMF / XMF getting stuck - freezing up?
February 05, 2020, 08:36:40 AM
We have recently began having issues with XMF freezing on a job (not completely crashing). Seems like the job is locked up and can't make any edits to it. Quitting XMF and even a restart of Mac doesn't help. Often times, we have to delete the job and start all over.

Wondering if we have too many "jobs" in our XMF queue and it might be causing this? We have 1100 jobs and haven't archived anything since we started 6 months ago. In Rampage, we used to keep a lot more than this current in the system as we have a lot of reprints.

We also recently upgraded our Macs to High Sierra.... could this be causing the issues? We know not to upgrade to Catalina, but assumed High Sierra would be ok.

Any thoughts?

We have two proofers; one is used with photo matte paper for press matching, the other with bond roll paper for blueline folding of proofs.
When we print out an imposition to the blueline paper (printer 2), it prints actual size (all measurements vertically and horizontally are correct); when we print to the photo matte paper (printer 1) we are between 0.06 and 0.125 short on the VERTICAL measurement on overall sheet.

Any idea where to look for a setting which may be different between the two printers or is it something with the paper?

Thank you in advance.

NEED SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT IF POSSIBLE:

Thanks for the reply and yes, we figured out how to do a pdf from the imposition; however, we would like it to include all of the pressmarks, color bar, etc. and doing a pdf based on the above screen shot doesn't give us that (unless I'm missing something somewhere)

Please let me know if you know a way to accomplish this -- we used it all the time in Rampage and many of our outside vendors for our finishing want to see a pdf of the entire press sheet.

Fujifilm XMF / PDF of full press sheet from XMF

Apologies if I overlooked through searching..... new XMF user from Rampage.

We occasionally need to export a PDF of our entire press sheet, including side-guides, registration marks, color bars, etc. We could do this easily in Rampage, but cannot figure out if XMF will allow this.

Thank you to anyone who can advise of a method.
