QuoteI almost never install the latest OS on a production Mac until mid life when bugs are worked out. Being in early has cost me lots in downtime and troubleshooting.

Yeah, you've got a case. I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. Actually, we really only moved up for CS3, truth be known.

And David, isn't the sock drawer where men hide all sorts of "stuff". Or is that only me. Or shouldn't I have said any of that... :-[

I took the plunge and pre-ordered Leopard from Amazon for $109 US. $20 bucks off Apple's price with free shipping and guaranteed price matching. If they lower the price again before it ships I'll get it for the lower price. Can't beat that deal. This is for my machine at home. No prepress going on there and nothing too critical I can't replace.

what's up with this quote from http://blogs.zdnet.com/Apple/?p=960#more-960:

QuoteDevice drivers often have trouble with major systemware updates. They may not stop working altogether but may experience erratic behavior. They can choke at the wrong time, much like the Cleveland Indians did in the American League pennant playoff series.

You can have that fuctionality now with a little app called Desktop Manager (free) that does most of what Spaces does...been using it for some time now...very SLICK.. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12682
BTW - I'm using the older PPC version 0.5.3 -- the newest version is Intel Only, but you can find the older version..
