We use Heidelberg Prinect as our primary workflow, previously everything was sent through our Nexus rip. The cip data goes directly from Prinect to our Heidelberg - If we send plates for the KBA - the cip3 data gets generated by Prinect - and dropped into a Nexus hot folder for the KBA. If I recall we had to purchase a special license for this feature.

Problem seems to be resolved in CC. It is a nice bug to trip you up.

Just letting you know you are not alone. . . We are running Signa 13 - seems each version is a step backward . . . find a work-a-round

It seems to treat the local drive as a network drive. The preferences appear ok too. Like I said - "weirdness"

Macintosh / Mavericks Trash Weirdness
April 04, 2014, 12:56:32 PM
I have an odd thing happening with my iMac. When I drag a file to the trash can, from the local HD, it instantly deletes. I have re-installed the OS, ran disk utility & I have checked a lot of different forums, tried a number of terminal commands but it still does the same thing. Anyone seen this issue before?

Thanks

I have an Adobe InDesign document that I need to move into Adobe Illustrator. I export a PDF out of InDesign - and open it in Illustrator. When opening the files I get the warning "To preserve appearance, some text has been outlined". Does anyone know of a way to disable this "feature"?

Thanks in advance!

Heidelberg / Prinect - Renderer
August 05, 2013, 06:36:42 AM
We have been running Prinect with a MetaDimension Rip for a while - but were having a lot of issues with spot colors. We have since "upgraded" to the Renderer Rip. This seems to be helping our spot color issues - but there is a real lack of a user interface in rend. Does anyone have positive experiences with the Rend?

FYI - we finally got our new Imac's set up to work as a dual boot. So for now we can run in Snow Leopard - later in Lion. At least that's the plan.

No - but you get an 800 number for apple support. So that is pretty sweet :banghead:

Well  - so much for that - did the install via target mode. Because the mac came from the factory preinstalled with Lion - not an upgrade it cannot be downgraded. So - now I have a brand new - 1 day old mac that is dead. Oh yeah - since they do not give you a Lion disk - it has to be taken to an apple service provider for repair - or I am welcome to download Lion for the normal fee. Either way - it the lion way or no way. Gotta love it.

Yup - tried both of those ideas - alarm went off both times. That is why I am thinking of the target disk mode. I think next/last logical step.

I hope someone can help me. Just received 3 new 27" Imac's with Lion installed in them - on their SSD drives. Have read about how to downgrade to Snow Leopard - start from SL DVD - run disk utility - format - install ---- However the Imac will not start from the Snow Leopard DVD - it sounds an alarm and spins. The only solution I can come up with I have is to start in target disk mode and try to run the installer from my old Imac. Any thoughts if that will work?
