This isn't really a big deal because I just resaved the PDF as PDF/X (love it!) and it went through fine, but was wondering if anyone can tell me what in the world this error message means when I try to refine the original file:
Conversion Error
PDF to PS Conversion Error
Implementation Limit Exceeded

I just want to know in layman's terms what the heck that means.

BTW...Prinergy 3.0 (upgrading in two weeks

Thanks!

Adriano

Are you trying to Refine it or proof it
I get this error when VPS or Improof very complex PDFs

Hello!  I get it when refining.  Comes to a screeching red X halt.

Adriano

With Prinergy 4 I don't have this problem.
Did you try to PS the Pdf and refine it instead of converting to PDF/X?
It could be a transparency issue that when PS flattens or the usual half a billion points that are impossible to read in a life time like on CAD generated files.

I agree with Adriano. It looks like it is having a problem flattening transparency.

I was reading Prinergy 4.0.2.5b's release notes (just released yesterday) and it looks like what you are experiencing is a Prinergy bug.

Here is one of the things fixed in the new release. Looks like it will be taken care of when you upgrade to v. 4.

Refiner would fail on certain files with "PDF to PS Conversion Error: Implementation limit exceeded"
error. MKEG 343
