Quark Xpress / Re: Quark 8
July 09, 2008, 08:32:34 AM
Just received quark 8 and I love it. It's so fast. Great interface changes. This is what Quark should be from the beginning. Native import of .IL files. Goodbye Indy for me.

Have spinjet on hp5500 since April 2007. Wonderful machine, great software. I don't work for them nor I sale them. Initial setup is critical. My guy did not do it right and I had to adjust it myself. Never had any problems since. Now I am spinjet master. Good Luck!

Which version? Do you like your workflow? What's good/bad? How does it compare to Rampage or Apogee?

What do you mean you have to pay extra for mail?
You don't have to pay for gmail ...that's what I have. I LOVE my Touch.  But I'm not allowed to call it an iTouch...

I am split between buying new 3G iphone or ipod Touch. I don't need ipod but I like to see movies and mail is great addition, organizer to sync with ical as my Palm Zire 72 doesn't sync with Leopard and I don't want to pay for MissingSync. I think I would get .Mac or MobileMe to have automatic push sync.

Sorry, I did not see this for a while. You can get the directly from gmg. 5000 labels (5 rolls - 1000 ea. roll) item number 080000019. Ink ribbon is item number 08000021 (5 rolls, 2.25" x 243" ea.)

I am not sure if you can get this size in US anywhere else besides gmg but definitely in Europe.

If you want price pm me.

RAMpage / Re: Rampage outputting to Creodak CTP?
June 04, 2008, 09:42:04 AM
I don't have Scitex CTP but I do have Scitex Dolev still and I generate 1 bit tiff files in Rampage shooter and send them to Dolev through PSM board in blue Mac G3/350 running OS 9. PSM software ver 7.2. It's not the latest but I am only using it to send files to Dolev and not to rip/trap anymore. It works great and it way faster and easier than using Brisque. I still have Brisque Impose which I am using as a shelf.

RAMpage / Re: Rampage on non rampage box?

Quote from: almaink on May 30, 2008, 08:27:07 AMI don't get your problem there Kermit.
I am not arguing. I am just saying that I can get faster box for half the money. Remember what the gallon of gas cost today and what state of economy we are in... Every cheap US dollar counts.

I am flying there this weekend. I planned my vacation to see my family in Europe and visit DRUPA at the same time. Going there from US you will be shocked as how little our dollar is worth over there and I remember people at my company laughing at euros that they look like kids money as everyone is different color and different size. I don't see anyone laughing now.

RAMpage / Re: Rampage on non rampage box?

Quote from: almaink on May 28, 2008, 10:00:11 AMBecause their software is designed to run on their hardware. Not saying it won't work, just saying if you have issues they won't help if it's not running on one of their boxes.
There is no such thing as their box. The only thing that is theirs is their logo. Any other parts are made by intel (cpu), seagate (HD), and many other companies. Almost anyone can assemble couple of parts and make a pc. I used to do that too.

RAMpage / Re: Rampage on non rampage box?
May 28, 2008, 09:18:24 AM
Quote from: almaink on May 22, 2008, 04:14:28 AM. My guess is if you already have a box and it dies, you could remove the PCI cards for the hasps and put them into a new box. But if you do and you have issues RAMpage support isn't going to help.
Why not? If this is NOT a hardware issue but rampage software issue? I understand they would not help to fix connectivity issues to the non rampage box, but they should fix ripping issue?

Quote from: almaink on May 22, 2008, 04:15:47 AMNo 10.6 that I'm aware of. Pretty sure they will go right to version 11. In fact I understand it may come out at the end of the month.
DRUPA related?

General Prepress / Re: DALiM DiALOGUE...
May 19, 2008, 10:08:24 AM
My rampage boxes are over 3 years old and I have to look at either getting new boxes to be able to use PDF workflow with PDF trapping engine or totally replace rampage with something else...

I am looking at competitors before I make a decision.  :death:
