Now when I work in PS CS6 -
when I am done I go to close the image
(command+w) and the image closes
but ... the blank pasteboard window does NOT close
-
and ... (command+w)" does NOT close it
I actually need to click o the little close button
-
but then ...
al the pallets remain open on the other monitor
and I need to click somewhere on the desktop  for them to close out,
-
(of course everything will close if I quit PS - but I don't want to quit - just close the image and PS goes away - like before.
-
Is this a new Preference I can change?

Anything in "Photoshop Preferences | Interface" that might help. I don't have Photoshop 6 or I would look myself.

Hey Joe? When was the last time you got any?
"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"

Is there something to do with the refresh rate on your PC? Maybe the windows are closing but it's not registering with your machine? Could be something as simple as a defrag. Just throwing it out there.
