It's important to remember that some words have fewer syllables in Texas. "Retired" is a 3-syllable word for most of us.

(Of course, some words have more syllables in Texas. In the rest of the country, "God" is only one syllable. I've heard preachers in Texas stretch it out to three or four over the course of the 30-45 seconds it takes them to say the word.)

OMG! I remember there being some warehouse sized adult shop near there...
but I don't think so, the cross I am referring to is all on it's lonesome in a big flat field just South of I-40

Have driven past a huge one in northern Montana. On top of a hill. We could see it coming for about 5 minutes; couldn't believe how big when we drove past.    :shocked:
But there were a lot more taxidermists than crosses.

A few years ago someone dressed it up in a football shirt:
