We have an old inside joke here, "don't press F12!"
(It will throw a web press at a sister shop in Chicago into chaos and decapitate someone)

Ok figured out the Raid doesn't like the Adobe Fnt lst that shows up in the Document Fonts Folder
Is there a fix for that?

Do a search on the drive for ' AdobeFnt.lst ' and delete all of them. Just make sure you don't delete any files named ' AdobeFnt.db and and FntNames.db '. They are both static database files used by InDesign. Deleting them can cause problems.

They're not on the RAID I can't put a file on the RAID that has the AdobeFnt.lst
not a huge problem, but just another step deleting those.

So you mean if a folder contains an AdobeFnt.lst file you can't copy that folder to the raid? If that is the case and you try copying that folder does it just not start the copy or do you get an error that a file can't be copied? Are you getting a lot of those files in your job folders?

Yes I get an error message
Yeah I am getting those quite a bit.

And I'm not sure if that's the problem yet.

Are they just in font folders? Supposedly they do no harm unless they are corrupt. Sort of like politicians. Except politicians are all corrupt. :rotf:

Yeah I'm leaning toward that not being the problem
I am still researching.

I went back to your original post where you posted this:

Can you change the permissions on the file if you click the lock in the lower right hand corner? If it does you might want to try clicking the little gear icon and see if it will let you change owner status to you '(Me) in your screenshot'.

After looking at your screen shot again it appears you probably already are the owner. If that is the case...have you created a user account on the RAID using the exact same name and password as what you are using on your Mac and then use those credentials to mount the RAID drive on your Mac.

Yes, I'm using the RAID ok, it's my folders that occasionally have permissions set at no access.
Not sure why this is happening
I'm starting to think I'm having permission problems with my folders
I still have my old server hooked up, I'm dropping my files in both places right now.
no problems on the old server.

I have an old old old old old old old old Mac that I use for an old 11x17 Scanner only
I noticed I had tried hooking up to the RAID by AFP on it, mind you this thing is so old I had to go to Chooser
So I think I will be losing this scanner soon
If you hadn't told me about the SMB/AFP thing I wouldn't of known that was a problem (thanks)

We are moving in June so I'm trying to get this all dialed in
