Does anyone have a 28x40 GATF or G7 color test file?
I have one for 25x38 but I'm guessing it's not a good idea to enlarge it.

We Have Ricoh's and I could of swore they use to convert RGB well
Now I have to make sure I convert my RGB Files to CMYK
was this my imagination or should it convert well?

I have been trying to do a data merge using the multiple records layout
I can get it to work, only if I don't have master pages
I gave up and did the data merge 1-up and layed it out in XMF
anyone know how to do this?

Ugh XMF doesn't like a lot of pages so I may go back to the indy data merge and place my master pages after doing the data!

getting ready to install 2022 on to Big Sur
any issues with Big Sur?

going to look on Enfocus website for the installer, as I was busy and hit cancel
when the window came up to install 2022, is there any way to get the dmg through pitstop?

is this something a professional should do?
in the video she pushed 3 buttons and unplugged at the same time
and then she moved things up and down and removed things!! 

this stresses me out a bit, just wondering if I can cause damage, and is this part of the job?

so if I'm centered at 6" moving up .6 is that right?

Since installing Big Sur my Shortcut icons turn white sometimes
I recreate the shortcuts and some of them stay for awhile, I found online
that I need to clear the icon cache, anyone else having this issue?

Is there a way to download cloud fonts?
we are doing some Business cards through a web portal
and they want the fonts, I packaged the files but the fonts did not package
not sure what to do with this.

So we are now process-less with the Fuji ZD plates

I forgot to ask, how long can you let plates sit out after exposure? I know to put it in a box if not using right away.

does anyone know how to change the document size so everything stays at the top?

hmm I may have figured it out using the page tool, have to select all the pages and then resize
and then select all the master pages and then resize

Page tool did the trick, I have never used it before!

I tried to make an action to select the Register mark and change the color
I have attached the pdf with the Register mark it's tiny and it's the only thing on the pdf

It's not the blue text highlight
its some kind of formatting highlight so when you make an adjustment
it lets you know you changed something

Hey I can't see some pdfs in folders and on desktop
I can see them when doing a save as etc... I can see them in the folder

I should be getting a new computer soon, but until then I have to deal with this computer

So we got a Ricoh with a 5th color it can do clear, white and I think metallic not sure yet
I was invited to sit in the training tomorrow, I know I want to ask questions about how to
prepare the files and what to call the 5th color etc.. any other questions I should ask?

anyone know how to find what angle the Default Spot Angle is? XMF

We have a job we have printed for 15 years different presses different line screens
and no problems, this went out to an outside printer and an image moire'd
we have had these printed at other printers without problems also

the image is a scanned 1200 dpi, 1 color
I see that they did use a different screen angle in the printed piece
I'm sure you smart guys can give me some insight on why this happened!

so we do these crazy files on the Xante
36x11 150 to 200 pages or more. He prints one side at a time
some of the pages are very detailed illustrator files, those hang up the printer
I make 600 dpi images out of those pages which helps but we want it to go faster
we are getting more bigger books!  :laugh: yay!

I tried everything, .jpg instead of .tif,  X1A, Print as image
when I do .jpg it's faster but there is white lines where it skips imaging.

our last resort is getting the driver to print directly to the Xante, bypassing the iQue
does anyone know why this would work? tech said this might work.
I don't think this will work on 36x11, I think more control is needed.

Found this by accident just now
grab 2 or more pdfs, right click
select Quick Actions Select Create pdf
it will combine the 2 pdfs!!

I use to burn disks on the old G5 Mac worked great for years
I have not had good experiences burning disks with an external hard drive
I have gone through enough externals, I now have the Apple external reader,
I think it's a burner too but not going to use it.

so anyway while I was out the G5 died and I'm wanting to get another one since
it was so reliable in burning disks, can anyone help me find a G5 for a good rate?

I found this but there isn't any info, if there is a burner etc.....

Is it possible to convert color to BW in XMF

with the (don't laugh) Brisque we just ripped to a BW Que and it worked pretty good.
going to look into it now.

I got a crappy job but a bunch of pages
I will convert in pitstop if I have to, just thought XMF could do a better job? not sure
