Any suggestions for free, or near free software for simple OCR for Mac. Home use I have Lexmark all in one, Photoshop 7 and M$ office.

Not free but if you have Acrobat Pro 8 or 9 on your Mac it has an OCR function built in. (Under the document menu, OCR Text Recognition)
