yeah, how could we ever live without font issues...

damn fonts, 90% of the time spent on a job is pretty much font related.

Glad you kinda sorta have it figured out Lammy.

Is it just me or what? The first screen shot you posted has a lot more missing than 2 lines of type and the return. All of the italic text and all of the bolded text as well as the return is gone in that example. Most definitely a font issue.

no Joe, not you. Prolly everything that was set in that face, or who knows. It's obviously not supposed to do that. I've only gotten the file/fonts to do it twice doing the same steps over and over. So it's not even a consistent bug. I just know I am no longer trusting the "change all" feature. I will make sure I look at every instance of a font when I replace it from now on.

Are you sure it doing the replacing of fonts using the set in the Document Fonts folder or could it be using another instance of that font already loaded in your system?

Nice feature. Once it's all in The CloudTM I'm sure these problems will never happen again.

Yup, same fonts from the Document fonts folder. In Indesign when you pull of you list of fonts they divided into three sections. The top is the recently used, then there's a dividing line, then the fonts open from the Document Fonts folder, then a line, then the fonts open by your system. So I'm always picking the fonts in the section for the job. In this case, I only have the one Franklin Gothic loaded from there also.

Of course. You'll have access to the whole Adobe Font Library!

"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"
