OK I ever really used it since I saw it demoed in Boston many, many years back (when CS was first being talked about and released in Beta), but I figured it would really be a great tool if I ever needed to search for and purchase a stock photo or two for publication.

Well I have a client who's need required me to search for a couple of simple stock photos, and guess what I found when I tried to use Adobe's Stock Photos CS3????

I'm really starting to think Adobe has the feeling of being omnipotent and can play with our heads any way they choose.

This sounds like a Rant but I wanted to know if anyone else uses these services and besides "iStock Photos" and "Getty images" who do you use?

Sparky, I have a pretty extensive library of royalty free images, PhotoDisc and the sort. What do you need? I probably have it, or something close. And, have you tried PhotoDisc?

The Adobe Stock Photos service is being discontinued as of April 1, 2008, to allow Adobe to concentrate its efforts elsewhere.

And you guys know about morguefile.com right? Also The Art Explosion sets come with tons of photographs too, if you install the viewer they're pretty easy to access.
But, back to stockphotos, I almost hate to post this but I can still access downloadable comps

good site, use it alot. even the "pay" version of that site is worth it : http://www.stockxpert.com - its very affordable, and nice images..

another one is : http://www.istockphoto.com - they are also reasonable, and they have a good vector graphic collection.

we should probably start a 'resource' link here somewhere, if there isnt one already..  we can post up some linkage to resource sites..

anyone have anything else to share?

Sorry, i'm new here. It's a great place & less stuffy than some official places.

I don't know about Adobe Stock Photos as i have no use for it. But your subject of Adobe is NOT god caught my eye.

No, they're not, but i'm sure if you asked them they'd tell you their poop don't stink.

That said, have you tried InD CS3 in Leopard? Trip.

What i've seen is sometimes, not all the time, placing an image or relinking an image will either crash the programme or give you the spinning beachball & eventually crash.

Sometimes restarting the app fixes it. Sometimes it doesn't (wasted an hour last night). In that event, i've had success trashing prefs by Cmd-opt-control-shift & relaunching.

Not that i need to be productive or maintain a livelihood.

Nor do i have anyplace else to go.

Doesn't the government have any antitrust regulatory powers?

Thanks, i feel better now.
