Hi,
Our Kodak Platesetter went down. Is there a way I can pull a 1 Bit Tiff from the Navigator Rip? OR from the Kodak Tiff Catcher? Can someone direct me to where the files reside?
Thanks for any help!

Hello agrpress2776,

unfortunately, the usual 1-bit TIFF from a Navigator RIP doesn't work without problems. Kodak only accepts specially tagged 1-bit TIFF files. You need at least the "Kodak TIFF Catcher Connection" from Xitron.

As an alternative, I recommend the StudioRIP XF, which already has these special Kodak tags in the standard version.

Hello,
I have a Kodak magnus 400, with tiff catcher. Do you know if I can pull the tiff off of that magnus rip?

You should be able to.

If I remember correctly, it will be in the HotFolder for the Magnus. Even with your platesetter down, you could send your job to the Magnus which will RIP the TIF. Then go to that HotFolder on the PC, and you should have 4 TIFs if it was a 4/c job. Pull the color you want.

Never had to merge the 4 back into 1. But maybe someone else could help with that if needed.
