ya could try a deadener varnish like they use in flexo sometimes

Issue is client wanted to "Glue weld" two pieces of polyester together using a glue that chemically reacts with both sides of the plastic.  The UV won't let that happen....but even UV can't stand up to a belt sander which is what we ended up using.
