Wanted to start a general thread for OO and I have a spreadsheet question to start things off.

I'm doing a numbering job on the copier, I mean digital press, via CWS and am using their VDP function to create a master. For the #ing I'm using Indy's Data Merge and I thought I was ready to go until I realized this is running on 2-part NCR.

Does anyone know how to make a consecutive # list in Calc so it looks like this?

4001
4001
4002
4002

etc. for a total of 2000 records.

So,  :drunk3: i send the job to the rip with live transparecy (v 1.7 or whatever) and it craps out with a memory error.

So the Excel drag thing doesn't work with OO?

I wouldn't know.... :embarrassed:

no answer for your question, but i number NCR sets using multiple page masters - 2 part would have 2 identical masters, and so would the InD file that you send with the variable data.

this allows me to number the 1st page in red, the carbonless get a black imprint.

multiple ways to skin a cat, this is what works in my environment.

Ya, it works but I'm not setting up my "seed" cells correctly. I tried a number of diff things and when I dragged I was getting triplicates for some reason.

I started to goog it but I'm not getting the right hits.

is your numbering diff colors for the 2 sheets?
if not print 2 of each page an option?

gnubler

No, just black.

How to print 2 of each page? Is that in CWS?

i dont think CWS specifically has a function for that, but if you set it to 2 copies and "group" instead of collate, you should get 2 of each page in sequence.

I just do the prep end but i think you can get CWS to do 2 copies
when you select properties, it's at the top (on ours anyway)
the collating and grouping thing I'm clueless

gnubler

This worked. Set for 2 copies, non collated, face down output. Free beers for everyone!
