Digital Printing / Re: Xerox Versant 2100?
April 29, 2015, 10:34:55 PM
Well we ended up putting one in as well. Pretty happy with the machine so far & it's great to be able to dial in fusing temperatures front to back along with alignment profiles in the Stock Library manager. The machine can get a little bit messy up the top of the drum units, hence the little cleaning wand you have to use sometimes on the laser windows. We got one with a high capacity stacker and saddle stitch booklet maker with forage trimmer - quite a productive setup and we have also put envelopes thru with good results.

Digital Printing / Xerox Versant 2100?

Had a demo last week for this machine - we are in the process of updating a Konica Bizhub CS650 - I was kind of impressed with the print quality and build of the machine - anyone else had a look?

Heidelberg / Suprasetter Error
August 27, 2013, 11:52:48 PM
Hi my Suprasetter A74 has been playing up a bit lately - I keep getting and "Motor End Stage Error" The business owner has no service contract on this machine so I have to trust my local Heidelberg guys about parts needed for the fix - tomorrow I have a new motor and belt going in.... hopefully this fixes the problem. If not it may be an encoder failing - another pricey item.

My problem, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Maybe I need to install the updates - I've got the first build of Version 11 - I've not bothered as yet because it seems like such a palaver thru the Enfocus site? - Maybe it's just me  :hangme:

I shouldn't have to download a complete version again?

We tend to make giant leaps over here in the rust belt - I spent an hour yesterday farting about with a designers 24 page brochure - all in glorious Freehand 9

I kinda like Pitstop 7 - 11's not bad either except for the bug I mentioned - here's the screengrab

Thanks for that screen snapshot DCS - with my version if i use the normal selection arrow and select objects I get a measurement (bit time consuming on a big dieline) if i use the select similar tool and then go back to the standard selection arrow I get nothing? - this use to work in my version 7.

Okay - I'm trying to find a window that will show me the size of selected objects in Pitstop 11

Simple work - as in version 7 I'd select similar strokes and view it's measurement properties to give me a physical size of a die shape.

This seems to be different in 11 - probably missing something blindingly obvious.

Macintosh / Re: Files Updating!!!!
November 28, 2012, 10:35:04 PM
The other Macs are 10.6.8 - I'll have to do a bit of homework about the network protocols - little bit out of my technical league.... It's got me fuc*ed why it would do it

Macintosh / Files Updating!!!!
November 28, 2012, 09:18:24 PM
I've got a workstation - Mac Mini running OSX Lion 10.7.5 - It's giving me the screaming shits! - We have about 4 workstations and we all view a server over the network (our rip) - okay we've got a folder on the server that holds all our pdf's for our workflow - only on this box if you mount the server it will start updating the creation dates of the pdfs - a real pain when using Signa Station - I'm thinking it's rebuilding previews of the pdf's - anybody got any ideas?

It's a stinking hot day over in my part of Aus - I need a few beers!

I've had a look at the preflighting - the idea of tailoring it for my situation would appeal - happy to take on board anything you have to offer

I've just jumped from Pitstop Pro 7 to 11 - seems to be coming together and working okay in Acrobat X - I've got Prinect Preflighting tools for my workflow so I'm not sure how often I'll use the Pitstop equivalents.

No drama's so far......
