It checked out just fine.

IT has everything locked down. I can barely download anything, and can't install anything without their permission. I can't even add a script to InDesign/Acrobat.

Apparently, and this is weird, the pages were mystically linked together in sections somehow. I used the, "Edit PDF," tool, selected the masked area and right-clicked. Then I selected, "Remove Artifact," and the mask was removed... but it did it on all like pages, so I only had to edit about a half dozen pages to fix the whole document. Weird, right?

Quote from: Joe on Today at 09:33:59 AMYes...with Pitstop. But you want to just change the size of the mask instead of deleting it. Deleting the mask can cause other issues.

Also with Pitstop there are "add bleed" optiosn that will extend the mask if the bleed content is there. If it isn't there it will flip and mirror what is there to fill the void. Takes some practice using it though.
As of now, we do not have PitStop.

I have a job I need to fix bleed on (392 pages) and the bleed is there in the file, but it's masked. I need to use a PDF Fixup to remove the masks, but can't figure it out. Is it even possible? The file originated in PDFium.

:ontopic:

I'm finding out that a lot of the work we get through here (is banners and stickers) are 800 page plans and specs books, mostly done in CAD. We have to resize the work to 8.5x11 usually (sometimes 11x17) but this latest order came in raster instead of vector and all that's supplied is pdf. There's 860 pages of these things, and it's choking Prisma, so we need to reduce file size somehow.

What's the best recommendation? Using the default reduce file size option, or using the optimize pdf and defining?

Do you still call it a Master Bedroom? Most people have moved on to call it a Primary Bedroom, as the term Master Bedroom harks from slavery days.

Quote from: DCurry on May 09, 2024, 01:07:23 PMHe's over on the Dark Side boards. Used to work for Kodak, I think. Basically knows everything.
Speaking of the Dark Side, yesterday I was looking for something, and I came across the post where the guy called us a bunch of 12 year olds (well, it was before I joined, so he called you all a bunch of 12 year olds). I still keep my age at 12 on this forum for that reason (DCS had filled me in on the story years ago), but I noticed Joe's age changed to 69. Not sure if that's a joke or not, but I enjoy seeing everyone's age at 12.

Quote from: Foozball on May 08, 2024, 11:29:25 AMThe same thing we NOW do with double spaces ... "IGNORE".
That's true.

My Mom's parents are both deceased and my Dad passed away 17 years ago, and I ignore her.

Quote from: Joe on May 07, 2024, 03:32:06 PMHow a couple lost thousands after responding to Apple security scam
If you're that stupid to fall for, "buying gift cards," then you deserve to get swindled. Let's think about this logically... you know you didn't do anything wrong, and let's say someone did remote into your iPad... what site were you on that allowed the attacker to gain access? Maybe you're NOT so innocent after all...

$15,000? Hell no. I'd take my iPad to ewaste for shredding, and for $600 I'd buy a new one.

If I were really paranoid I'd go buy a new router with a VPN and configure my devices to connect through the VPN. I do that anyways so I can get out of market sports, or watch local teams that got blacked out.

I once had an Italian-American boss who claimed to be offended by Burger King's Whopper.

I got an email recently; an invoice from PayPal saying that my payment was declined. Obviously it was phony, because I don't have a PayPal account. I have told the old people in my life to ignore all of that stuff. Who's still falling for these scams?
