Right now I am bored out of my mind. It is either cold, rainy, snowing, icing or all of the above. I need something do do indoors! >:(

Very nice, Joe!

I'm supposed to get my car back from the shop Friday. Been down since the beginning of September bc they couldn't get my engine.

The car I traded is going to need a new engine eventually. It is a chevy 4 cylinder turbo that has developed an oil leak at 139,000 miles. It is going to get worse and there really isn't a permanent fix. I had it checked and it would be $7,400 to replace the engine. And it would take at least 6 months for them to even get the engine. Should have been a recall on that engine so I gave it back to them. Problem solved. :rotf:

Mine is also a 4 cylinder Turbo 2.0L. I think you're right about a recall bc they aren't putting those in their SUVs anymore. I have a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with 72,000 miles and I believe it was the connecting rod that broke. They didn't tell me anything other than I need a new engine. It's under warranty. He tells me 3-5 months before I get it back because it takes about 2 months for the engine to come in and there are 40 engines ahead of mine.

I said, "4?"

"No, 40."

"14?"

"No, four zero."

My dude.......I believe there should be a recall.

Skryber, there was a recall, but for Kia on those engines. I believe Hyundai and Kia are owned by the same parent company. And thus the back log of engines. I just bought a new 2022 Kia in August of last year. And in doing my research I found that there were a few years before mine that had some bad engines. So as soon as I was reading your message, I thought you were going to say you had a Kia.
Did they give you another vehicle until it gets fixed?

They are owned by the same parent company. They did not give me another vehicle because there were 30 people ahead of me waiting for one. But they always say there isn't one available. My dad has an extra Sonata hybrid that he doesn't use. So my mom let me use her Sonata hybrid, my mom is using my dad's Azera and my dad is driving around illegally in the Sonata Hybrid with invalid plates from who knows what and no insurance. I offered to plate and insure it, but he doesn't listen to me. Hopefully all that is over in a few days. Thankfully my Ps are awesome, otherwise I would have to buy another car. Renting would be assinine.

So I've been driving around this hybrid since September, and I cannot get used to the delay. My car went like a house on fire once that turbo kicked in. This thing is like 2-3 seconds before it goes. It's fine once you get going but don't try to sneak a turn in between traffic. I hate it. Love the gas mileage though.

Last night I was checking out the newer Hyundais and see that they are using the 2.0T engines again. Maybe they changed them bc there was a gap where they didn't have any available. I was checking out the Kona N last night. Want.

Ps sound awesome. And yes, renting that long would be assinine.

I saw the regular Kona right after I bought my car, and thought it might have been a contender.

I'm not ready for all electric but I do kinda like the Kia EV6. I'm a big guy (6'2" 290lbs) that likes small cars. Always have. The one I would really want is the Toyota GR Yaris. But it will not be in the States, plus I'm too cheap to buy it. But if it happened, I would really have to think about it. Small 2 door with 200+ HP and all-wheel drive.

I see a problem with your truck already Joe, It has a strange looking cross thing in the grill.

It should be a blue oval looking badge for the truck to be considered good  ;D ;D ;D
