We are looking into getting DotSpy in the coming months, wanted to know from any users what they like and dislike about the software, also if anybody is using it with presstek files.

Thanks in advance for any info...

Ditto, we create 1 bits of all of our repeat jobs and send full press form 1 bits to the creo.

It really is an invaluable tool.

I've seen it in action and I really wish we had it.

Thanks guys for the info, we had a demo of DotSpy while we were at AWS for our Ody workflow training, we really liked it alot, but our higher ups didn't want to spend any more money at the time. We have run into some issues that if we did have the software, would have never happened. Maybe I can keep twisting the money arm and get it sooner than later.

We use it all the time for checking TIFFs before going to plates.  You can check trap, screen angles, values, everything.

Now if we just had a good operator in that room, we'd be all set  .

Nevertheless....beck has hit the proverbial nail on the head.

Yea it's part of our QA to check 1 bits before press plus it's an excellent trouble shooting tool if they are having issues on press.

If a pressman comes in complaining he can't get color because the imagesetter is f'ed up (used to hear that a lot) we open up the plate tiff read the % then read the plate % show the neanderthal the results and send him packing back to mama.
