Anybody download the pre-release today? I jumped on, and I'm kind of surprised the features shown in the web demo aren't active.

I jacked a PDF up by rotating some pages, removing bleeds on others and BoardingPass somehow RE-rotated the bad pages and there's no indication in the left pane that anything is incorrect.

I'll try a few more, was hoping to get feedback from the CSRs but at this point, I don't see it doing anything more than what they'd normally see in Acrobat Pro.

Was going to do a full clone of our iGen 5 prior to a service visit (some times they like to wipe the whole thing, so like having a good Image of the press before) but can't find our packet that came with the install.

Another thing, all the EFI instructions say to boot from the DVD supplied, but the RIP PC doesn't even have a drive! 

Anybody got an ISO they can supply so i can make a bootable USB drive? I've asked the techs, waiting on them & my registration for the EFI forum is also pending.

Seagate NAS at work dropped off the network over the weekend, it happens every so often but when I restarted it - not such a great sound. 

Bossman insisted I tag in our IT Service and against better judgement I tried a different power supply but it didn't have enough juice to even fire the enclosure up, then a Hard Reset which of course did nada. That's when I recorded this as it tried to spin up again. Shockingly, the IT people said "That's the sound of a dying drive!" Wow - thanks.

I yanked the bad one out & running at half speed until the Synology DS220 + (2) Seagate IronWolf 2TB drives arrive, by end of week I hope.

So I got a project in here end of the week that seems perfect for the Trace function in PS 2020. Seems perfect. It's 150 headshots, all output at about 12x18" and then diecut. We're outsourcing the cutting as our plotter is on the fritz.

Problem is, the pics are SO low-res once they're enlarged to the target size of 12x18 that the Trace outline ends up jaggy as hell. I've tried tweaking the settings in Pitstop to smooth out the paths but nothing really makes a difference. The only thing that makes the path acceptable is a manual Smooth in Illustrator, and I really don't wanna do 150 files by hand.

Can't find this for some reason, the front-back registration on tabloid sheets in particular is slipping. Is there an internal calibration to get it back to better?

Anybody have one of the utilities to convert PDFs to InDesign? Trying to package a really old job for a customer, and even though I have Document Fonts, Links there's only a hi-res PDF with crops in the job folder for some reason.
The Application creator was InDesign too, dunno where it went.

For home use, Wife & I both have MacBook Airs with smallish SSDs and starting to feel the squeeze of minimal internal storage. Any recommendations for a NAS I can hang off of the Router to store pics & media and maybe even ideally be Time Capsule compatible?

Already use separate external HDs for each machine's Backup so the Time Capsule isn't a huge priority, more the ease of use to drop media & categorize it for retrieval later.

Got this 56pg book, with items that are polygon shapes and the Generate Bleed Action isn't doing its thing at the tops, or for some of the items that are just inside the outer edge bleed trim. Anybody seen a similar result?

Back story: We've been doing an excessive number of EDDM drops for a customer and for some reason, many of the variable elements were created as images (signature, associate's phone #, unique message) mostly because the client was sold on them being truly hand-written. So they had to be well, written, then scanned & colorized TIFs, placed manually etc. Madness.

Got the approval finally to do all of it as a custom font so I can get it composed through XMPie, but I need a way to export every PDF Record based on at least 2 field variables: AssociateName and TargetNeighborhood. That's the ONLY way the digital dept will know exactly how to match the output Qty to the defined mail drop. (They also have to match to a pre-printed offset shell, unique to each Associate.

We're using uCreate Print, hoping it's not going to take an expensive add-on module or plug-in to get this done. I saw something called Audiences in uCreate - is that a potential tool?

Anybody ever found a way to save Print Presets directly in Acrobat?

For instance, I'm constantly flipping between Letter/Tabloid sizes, with or without Crops, and for biz cards I'll do the Multiple Up with Borders. Can't believe there's NO way to save these instead of always changing the settings.

Anybody heard if there are plans from Fuji to update XMF servers to Win10, since Win7 is officially defunct?

We're moving ahead with the platesetter replacement, but we're keeping the old Screen device functioning too as a backup until we're 100% happy with the CRON.

Anybody add a CTP device to XMF? Ideally, I'm going to have both online so all new Jobs will route to the CRON, but if I need to send plates to the Screen I need to (easily) be able to resend plates.
Guess I need to get the existing plate curves out of Colorpath too, not sure who's going to do the calibration on the new plates though.

Bonus: We didn't renew our XMF Maintenance at year's end because we just hadn't used it in the last 2 years and I didn't see the need. Worst case I can do a call and pay eh ala carte price.

On a Windows Server, anybody ever used a utility to notify of particularly large transfers of files to a desktop on the same network? Ideally I'd like to set a threshold of a specific size limit for files leaving the shared server that would send an alert if such a transfer was initiated. Bonus points if it could prevent the transfer as well.

I've inquired with our IT contractor company too, the guy I discussed it with was a little uncertain so I'm not confident but we'll see.

Got a steaming pile that's about 8200 pages, within that PDF there many pages that are say 36x24" so they'd need to be rotated AND scaled to 8.5x11" - doable?

So, client wants a bunch of tix with barcodes - they have the data but can't tel me WHAT format the barcode's in - any idears? 

Short Ask: is there an easy way to duplicate hundreds (or more) folders but JUST the names?

Long Explanation: We're expanding our server storage and have decided we'd like to start "clean" with the exact same folder structure. Looking for a way to duplicate all the existing top-level folder names so we dn't have to manually make them all again. I know I can Copy-Paste folder names into a text doc, but not sure how to them re-populate a server structure with all those names.

Looking to replace an increasingly moody Screen 4300 (single feed) unit, the powers that be recently saw CRON at the Texas print show, and are looking at one of their auto-feed models. I'm unfamiliar with the brand, apparently it's well established in Asia and they've partnered with ECRM to get into the US market.

I've got some literature and of course the glowing sales pitch but really want some real-world input. I've asked at the Other Forum too, and I have an email out to a shop in TX that has one but haven't heard back just yet.

Iv'e used Fontnuke for yeaaaaaars to clear Font caches whenever things bet a little squirrely but it's not really supported in Mojave (or later I'd assume) so looking for something else.

Any prefs out there? Is it an option buried in Onyx some place?

Anybody in the Mailing game know about SOC 2 Compliance? Recently lost a decent sized job (after we'd been awarded it actually) because the client's lawyers said we HAD to have this, even though it wasn't sensitive date or anything that seemed that protected.

I'm going to ask around tomorrow, curious if it's standard for printers to have the cert.

Been having a LOT of problems with this today, it just hangs up the App indefinitely with small PDFs. It happened with a few different client PDFs so I don't think it's an incoming file problem.

Using the latest InDesign version, I think the script is up to date, it's the "00)MultiPageImporter2.5JJB.jsx" but it's from like 2011.
