Is it an idea to uninstall all the Adobe stuff, clean all the remains withe the AdobeCleaningTool and make a Time Machine backup. After that I install a fresh OS from scratch and use the Migrate Assistant to migrate all the apps and settings. When that is finished I install all of the Adobe stuff.

Well it is an idea but there is always the possibility of bringing the problem back if it is being caused by other software that comes back with the migration assistant. When you use the migration assistant to bring back users, apps, and settings it pretty much brings everything back from the old user account like application preferences and the data in Users/~/Library/Application Support. Any of those could be causing the problem. I'm just not convinced it is caused by Adobe software or I think everyone would be having the issue.

If you don't want to re-install everything fresh try creating a new admin account on the Mac and try running Acrobat from the new account. It will create all of the Adobe settings in the new user Library folder fresh. See if you still have the same problem in the new account.
Late update: The new user profile solution works like a charm! No more memory eating behavior since three months.
ThnX a ton Joe!

We worked for a couple of weeks without the Acrobat memory problem. But unfortunately the problem is 100% back.  :banghead:
I guess the only solution is to make a new user account.

That's a very good question! I don't have an answer to that.
Probably there is more than one cause for this problem. In our case the update worked. In your case the new user account worked. Maybe the last solution did work for us as well, I didn't test that. It's a lot of work to create another user account with the same functionality as the old account.
I keep saying I find it coincidental that in our department only the iMacs were affected with the Enfocus Pitstop plugin installed. Maybe the Acrobat update only addresses that cause.

A bit off topic: Why doesn't the Adobe CC Desktop App notifies me when there is an update available for Acrobat Pro DC? To see if there's an update I must click on 'Help' in Acrobat and then select 'Check for updates'. This is weird, because all of the other Adobe apps will notifiy me through the Desktop App.

Quote from: Joe on October 08, 2018, 06:55:17 AMYeah they dropped a major new version of DC last week. I was wondering if this would solve that issue for those having it?

DPSprint?

Actually, the problem was already solved on both systems with the former update.

DPSprint? What do mean by that?

Unfortunately the memory leak problem is 100% back. ;-(
My colleague worked problem free for a week. I've installed CC 2018 on his iMac and after this install Acrobat becomes very memory hungry again. (I don't know if this action is related to the problem.)
Back to square one.
Update!
In the meantime another iMac user of our Prepress department encounters the same memory problem.

But ... I've installed the latest updates form Acrobat and guess what: the problem is gone on both systems. Finally! I've waited for almost a year for this.

Quote from: Joe on November 23, 2017, 09:30:42 AMI think at this point I would try wiping out one of the Macs with this issue and then re-installing a clean Mac OS system and a fresh install of Creative Cloud.
That's an idea. But it's a ton of work to re-installing all the other software, network settings, printer settings and other stuff. Normally I install a clean OS and use the Migrate Assistant to do that for me. But in that process I also migrate the Acrobat problem.

Quote from: Joe on November 23, 2017, 09:30:42 AMJust a thought on the Macs that are doing this. If they have wifi access enabled try turning it off and rebooting and see if the Acrobat memory hogging still occurs.
That's the first thing I'm gonna check. ThnX for the tip!

I know what you mean. Here 4 iMacs run fine with Acrobat. One doesn't.
Do you recommend another chat with Adobe? The last chat lasted 45 minutes ... with no solution.

The problem occurs in Yosemite, Sierra and High Sierra.

Hooked in to this conversation.  :hello:
No, my colleague installed a full license of Pitstop v13, but I uninstalled this in order to install this on the system of another colleague. The uninstall procedure did go well and I migrated the license info to that system. My other colleague works now without problem with it.

Two colleagues of mine work with Enfocus Pitstop V13.2 without problem. No memory problems.

I got the Sierra version of Onyx from this place. Unfortunately the link to the Yosemite version was broken. (I want also test my own iMac.) Here you can find the Yosemite version.

Edit 1: Forgot to mention: ThnX guys for mentioning Onyx! I give it a go when the Adobe chat isn't successful.

Edit 2: It's a bit annoying on this site to fill in the verification every time when posting/editing something. Most of the times I fill in the wrong characters. Sometimes I cannot download the audio file to listen to the correct characters.

Exact same problem here.
On a workstation with Yosemite installed we had this problem. In the meantime this workstation has being switched for a brand new iMac with Sierra. Same problem again with Acrobat Pro DC.

We uninstalled Acrobat with the official uninstaller and manually removed the remaining files and folders related to Acrobat. Then restarted the iMac and reinstalled Acrobat Pro. The problem remaines.
Adobe please fix this memory leak!"
I'm the quoted Jan.  :hello:
It's very frustrating to encounter this memory leak from Acrobat. I've posted the problem also at the Adobe > Acrobat forum.
Last month I've contacted someone from Adobe via chat regarding this problem. After this chat the problem seemed to be solved. But half an hour later the memory leak started again. I think I'll start another chat again this week.
